It wasn't much, but it was home. The calm waters of the south flowed around the small island known as "Turtle Island." Set on that small island was a meager house, some palm trees and not much else. Was this really where the great Turtle Hermit lived and taught in the ways of the Turtle School? It didn't seem likely. At the moment, a fire red colored speed boat was zipping away, leaving someone there to fend on his own while a large Sea Turtle was carrying a young man that had clearly seen better days on the back of his shell. The sea turtle's long arm and leg flaps would slap along the sand as he tried to pull the weight that was Luo on his back, looking clearly exhausted. "Sir! Sir, we're here! You can get off of me now, please!"

There was sand in his boots and it was a bit a nuisance. Wayne parked his rear on the edge of the white porch of the Kame House. With deft fingers, he untied the laces before swiftly removing his footgear. He dumped the first upside down as a small stream of sand poured onto the grassy ground. Sighing, he repeated the action for his opposite boot. Wayne wasn’t a big beach person. In fact, this was his first real trip to the ocean. “ This stuff is going to be everywhere.” After peeling off his socks, Wayne walked barefoot alongside the house. His gaze caught a large turtle carrying another man just coming ashore. Raising a hand to shield his eyes from the sun, Wayne squinted, thinking he recognized the man who had just dismounted from the large sea creature. Long strides carry him away from the Kame House and towards the shore. Closing the distance, Wayne realized he did know the man. Tucking his thumbs into his belt loops, he called to him. “ Luo. How’re ya now?” What were the odds of this?

The last thing he expected today was to be getting a lift, not to mention crossing the waters of the southern islands on the back of a huge turtle. After his battle with the pirate he didn't feel much up to the swim; the salt water was likely going to agitate the blows he'd taken in the fight, so it was looking he'd have been struck by a setback for a day or two using his supplies from the village to hold him over until he could close those up. The grateful turtle had offered though, and he wasn't going to turn down something that made his trip a little easier. He'd done away with the raft that held his supplies that he'd lashed together in a hurry, instead wearing the bag like a backpack after he'd put the rest of his clothing on and putting his bound sword back at his hip before departing. He sat cross-legged on the creature, arms folded as he took in the sights of the many islands. Inside his head he kept repeating a solemn ''are we there yet?'' but soon after found better ways to pass the time. Every time he thought they were going to stop, they pressed onward. Just how tucked away was this place, anyhow? If he were a man of Wayne's size, he'd have felt awful for this turtle. Luckily he enjoyed a speedy and toned build over a massive and powerful one. Still, he admired the turtle's strength and endurance. He questioned how old the creature was, concerned that he'd end up hurting the thing's back or some such. Finally, he'd arrive at what he believed was the island with the sun at his back as the turtle aimed right for the shore. So this was it, huh? It didn't look like much of a dojo. In fact it looked like a summer home or something. A gaudy pink house sat by its lonesome on what greenery did grow, which was a surprisingly large patch over top of the sand. The place was pretty tiny and much smaller than Luo would have thought. He had imagined training halls, meditation rooms, the whole package and yet here he was staring at a red and pink beach home between three palm trees that almost dwarfed it in size. The turtle came ashore and politely begged for Luo to hop off. He couldn't blame the thing. He'd have been exhausted too. Curling his legs in and hopping off the creature in one good motion, he'd land beside it. ''Ay, ay. Sorry for th' burden, pal. Thanks for th' lift!'' Giving the turtle a chummy clap on the back- er, shell, he'd nod with appreciation before giving it some space to take a rest. Adjusting the bag over his shoulder and the bandanna atop his head he would take a few steps before his eyes rested on a very familiar hulk of country muscle. ''Well howdy, Wayne. Didn't figure th' tough grown rustlers were th' type to go lookin' for a martial arts master.'' He'd remembered what Wayne had said to him after their scrap not all that long ago. ''Doin' alright, thank ya. How 'bout you?''

The giant sea turtle let out a sigh of relief as Luo finally slid off his back. He was getting too old to be a ferry of sorts anymore. Why, he was probably the oldest turtle on this planet! He still remembered the voyage here... somewhat. He was very old, give him a break! Padding his way up the shore, the old beast would find a nice, warm spot to warm his shell. He had gone out hunting for some fish to eat when all the insanity broke out a few islands back. He figured the one that had won the fight was less of a dastardly person than the one who lost. The old turtle wasn't much into that spiritual mumbo jumbo, he just hoped he didn't make a mistake. The Kamesennin was a bit annoying about certain things.
"Ahem." A cough could be heard from somewhere closer to the house. On that small porch, barely even that, stood quite literally a rat. The being only stood about four feet tall at best, and didn't look very imposing, or strong. He was garbed in a dogi of sorts, one hand clutching a cane with a pair of silver tinted sunglasses on his face, to protect from those strong sun rays here in the south. Greyish fur covered his body, save for his hands, feet, and tail. He didn't leave his stoop, and instead just stood where he was staring at the two intruders who made it to high island unscathed. Well, one was relatively unscathed, the other apparently had seen better days. "If you're both some wild kids looking for a spring break party or something you've got the wrong island. And when you find it, would you kindly let me know where it is?" He'd cough again, as if to dismiss the last part of what he said. "I've had a long day as it is, I don't have the time to deal with some drunken hooligans so off with you."
Not very friendly, it would seem. But how would you feel if you were a hundred and something year old rat who just had two people wash up on your shore?!

“ Oh, not so bad. Was in a shitty situation earlier you might say.” Before the country bumpkin could get into detail about why he had chosen to seek out the Turtle Hermit he was rudely interrupted by a large rat. Coincidentally, this rat would turn out to be the aforementioned hermit. Having just been dropped off on the island by a red poopy creature in a fancy speedboat, the idea of a rat being a martial arts master didn’t really phase him. The first thing that Wayne noticed was his sunglasses. Does everybody in the south feel the need to sport a pair of those things? Don’t nobody squint anymore? The rat spewed a line of gibberish about he and Luo being a pair of party-goers. Was that the appearance they gave off? Wayne was a colossal human being and Luo looked like a shifty pirate if anything with the way he wore his bandana. Must not get too many visitors if that’s his first assumption. Wayne figured he'd do his best to clear up the confusion. Maybe the fellow has spent too much time in the sun alone here.Wayne stamped his foot into the ground, and pivoted to the face the dogi clad rat. “ Stomp the breaks on that idea about us being partiers there Mr. Rat.” Both of his thumbs tucked into his belt loops simultaneously. Wayne’s look was serious, or as serious as one’s could be as he squinted hard to see the rat through the blazing rays of sun. “ Looking for the Turtle Hermit. I see a turtle over there.” Wayne’s finger pointed directly at the animal that brought Luo ashore. As he pointed, he kept his squinty stare on the rat. His arm then swung around and pointed right at the chest of the hermit. “ So I guess that makes you a hermit.” His arm dropped, and his hand soon found its old resting place, thumb in belt loop. “ Me, I’m here for training.” Wayne’s head turned and he spit. Shouldn’t he be the Rat Hermit then? “ Got no time for girls, not now at least. I’m here to work.” He stood, motionless. Wayne imagined Luo would chime in on this conversation any moment now. Luo gave Wayne his full attention, eager to hear his explanation on why a country bumpkin would decide to learn martial arts out of the blue. The guy really didn't seem the type, but Luo wasn't here to judge anyone. As it looked like Wayne was about to speak however a voice cut him off, and the half-breed would turn his head to eye the source. A cane, a pair of shades...a dogi? Wait. That couldn't be right. There was a literal Turtle that brought him here that was now relaxing, and he'd already admitted he wasn't the Hermit. Was this rat in a martial artist's clothing the person he had been searching for? No way. He couldn't be! The thought of it was ridiculous, but he spoke with a dismissive authority to his voice. Luo had expected some old wise man or maybe a geezer as tall and buff as Wayne from a lifetime of rigorous training. What he was looking at now almost bordered on ridiculous. Trained by a rat, he'd have to say. It wasn't like anyone was going to take that seriously. Giving Wayne his time to fire back, Luo would follow suit. He was positive this was the right place, unfortunate as it was for the Rat here who'd decided to double his vacation island home as a school of martial arts. His mistake. These two weren't going anywhere! ''Oi! I'm wit' th' big guy. We're here for trainin', simple as that. Ask your Turtle pal over there, even. I met 'im on an island not far from this'n an' ended up havin' to scrap with a pirate t' get here. I know about yer ''no fly'' rule, too. I met an' old bull that pushed th' point I wasn't to fly here or i'd get shot down. I made it fair and square and still got bandages to prove it!'' He followed the rules and he busted his ass to get here! There was no way he was just going to get shooed away like some loitering teenager. He'd stand beside Wayne, firmly planting his boots in the grass of the island. ''Same as this fella here, i'm here t' work and i'm here t' train. You've got a mighty strong reputation, and I wanna see what this Turtle School's all about.''

The old rat master looked between the two as they plead their case to him. They were looking for training, were they? They didn't seem the type, in truth. He'd adjust those sunglasses on his little face and waited a while before answering them both. He was sizing them up mentally, taking in everything he could from just feeling their energy, understanding whatever he could about these strangers. Finally, he'd point his cane towards Luo, jabbing him in the chest with the end of it. "You smell like Demon energy, boy. I'm guessing your little pirate friend was either not from this world or was possessed by one. Hnn. And you..." He'd now point his cane towards Wayne. "You smell like Argonian Lizard poop." The old master's senses were acute to be sure, not only was he able to tell that there was some sort of Demon energy residue on Luo due to his interactions with his foe, but the fact that Wayne smelled like he was sleeping in lizard's nest.
"Well, if you want training the first thing I'm going to tell you both is you need to show your Elder's a little more respect, yea? If you're not capable of that then you'll never be able to handle my training, you oafs." He'd hop off his perch on the porch, walking past them along the sand until he reached the shore, putting a hand over his eyes to look out at the waters, his whiskers twitching a bit. Nothing. His concern wasn't with the source of the lizard stench, but more towards that Demonic energy that Luo came across. Turning back around he'd face the both of them again, tapping his cane along the sands a few time. "But, to be truthful, that is my main task as the Kamesennin of this planet, and that's to train anyone and everyone who thinks they can handle it. BUT! They must first prove themselves to me."
In dramatic fashion the sun would shine and glint off his sunglasses before pointing that cane at the both of them. "First, is a test of your mental strength! One of the most intense tests ever created. You must both prove your strength in a match of..." He'd pause again, for more of that dramatic effect. "ROCK! PAPER! SCISSORS! Well, do you accept my challenge to prove your worth?! The one that smells like the poop, you're up first. If you accept, stand before me!"
The Kamesennin has challenged Wayne and Luo to ... Rock, Paper, Scissors?! What?! Wayne Keeso , you're up first if you accept the challenge step forward. Rules will be explained if the challenge is accepted! Luo Hanzhai will be exempt from posts until the match is over (if it's accepted by Wayne), also due to him moving so giving more time for this thread to commence for when he gets back.

The pair of them had stated their case. Had it been enough? There was much that transpired in this world, things Wayne had thought he’d never had to deal with, since he left his bucolic home. Wayne was on old style fighting man. A throwback to simpler times. All of the favors, all the seemingly endless running about, it wore on him mentally. If you put a wall in front of Wayne, he didn’t bother going around or over it. He ran straight through it. Luo could attest to that. He was tired of playing games. If Wayne wanted to tumble around in the back bush, he would’ve never come this far. He’d have more patience had he not wagered that his friends and family’s lives were on the line. Those people from West City, the ones who had overpowered him and indirectly sent him on this course for additional training, they wouldn’t wait for him to get stronger. The Kamesennin and Luo might have had the luxury of time, but Wayne didn’t. His teeth grinded as the hermit rattled off about the pair’s previous escapades prior to their arrival on his island. The frustration was visible, just as easily recognizable prior to his dustup with Luo a few days prior. His legs carried him forward to a spot only a few feet from the rat. “If it’ll expedite the damn process, then let’s be on with it. I’ll play your game.” Wayne’s had shot forwards from his side. His fist was tightly clenched. He was ready to throw. Sadly, it just wasn’t punches. Wayne was ready to engage in a game of ROSHAMBO!

"HMPH!" Wayne's comment did not sit well with the Old Master, clearly. His impatience would make things difficult for him to learn what it is he needed to. Regardless, Nezu Mi was ready to prove that both of these young thugs had a long way to go before he would allow them to train under him! The legendary Turtle School was not just for ANYONE! As the brute approached him, the master would slam his cane into the ground once more, holding his free arm high in the air. "That attitude will get you nowhere with me! And nowhere in your test!" Nezu Mi felt a bit more cunning now, figuring he had the one up on Wayne right off the bat.
Once they were at the ready and set, the Old Master would wind up and throw his arm out forward and show his hand. The true test of mental strength started here!

Wayne hadn't playing rock, paper, scissors since he was in grade school. It was a kid's game, or an immature way of figuring out who was to do something. People out his way didn't even bother drawing straws. If there was something to be done, you just did it. No use fussin' if there was work to be done. Wayne tossed his arm forwards, not really thinking about what he was going to throw.

Hm, the the big, blonde one through the same thing out that he did! This was already intense! He could feel a bead of sweat rolling down the back of his furry head, as he had expected to blow the brute out of the water from the get go. "Heheh'... well, well. Looks like you have some mental grit to be able to tie it up with me on the first go. Or maybe you're just lucky, eh'? Well, your luck ends here!" Master Nezu Mi would be fired up for sure, his aim was to show this whippersnapper the power of the Kamesennin! He reared his arm back once more, his fingers clenched tightly as he prepared to throw his strike. "Now! Show me your true power, boy!"
And with that, the two would fire off their respective "attacks." What would be the outcome?!
Let's get this rolling and speed it up in the process! Wayne, roll 3d125 to combat against Nezu Mi's 3d125. Each dice roll will be a choice "thrown" and we'll see who gets the best 2 out of 3! It's a game of chance. Is this old rat crazy? Those were the thoughts that ran through Wayne's head as the Kamesennin spoke following their rather anti-climatic tie. Expelling a breath, Wayne drew back his hand again. The rat was prattling on about true power and this and that. It's rock-paper-scissors... That was all he could manage before he realized it was his turn to throw again. Could you really judge someone based off their rock-paper-scissors skills? Hurling his arm forward, Wayne threw.

Well, his plan worked like a charm! Unpredictability in predictability! Though, Nezu Mi's face seemed a bit shocked by all of it, though he'd quickly cough into his hand before brandishing a confident grin on his face. He'd wave Wayne aside, instructing him to move away so perhaps Luo could make his way over if he so pleased. "Don't get down on yourself, boy. I'm a martial arts master, after all. It takes years upon years of mental training to be able to beat me in such an exercise. Why, you probably would die before you were able to compare yourself with the likes of me!" An overconfident laugh followed, before he beckoned Luo over with one finger. "You next, boy. Let's see if you have any more skill than your big, blonde friend here."
If Luo accepted the old Turtle Hermit's challenge, he'd find himself tangling with him. His arm swung out three times with a close fist, each time as the arm swung down to meet Luo's, he'd throw out an "attack." How much better would Luo fair compared to Wayne?

The first thing the Rat Hermit would point out after his accusations was that Luo was covered in the stench of Demon Energy. He didn't even know something like that had a smell, but after the Hermit had mentioned it he couldn't say he was surprised. Whatever had happened to that pirate definitely added up to something demonic. For a moment, he wondered how much more vile his opponent could have turned had the fight not ended when it had. He made his own observations of Wayne as well before babbling on about elders and respect and yadda yadda. If the guy wanted respect so bad, then why did he assume this pair of trainees were just a couple of partied-out, hungover nuisances? He'd keep his mouth shut for now, especially since it seemed the Rat was getting down to business. He spoke of the ultimate test of mental strength, and Luo began to get excited. Now this was what he came for. Trials, training, the whole nine yards. He couldn't wait to see what this fabled Turtle Hermit had up his sleeve. It wasn't quite what he was expecting. Visibly face-palming as Wayne volunteered to speed up the process, Luo still couldn't believe the Hermit was serious. Rock-Paper-Scissors? Really? How did that test mental fortitude!? He'd play along if it meant getting a shot at training, but right now he was having a hard time believing the Hermit stacked up to all that the rumors cracked him up to be. He watched as the Rat and Wayne commenced their ''battle'', and he was dumbstruck at the result. Wayne was quick for his massive frame; Luo knew that from fighting him one on one. Either this Rat was really, really good at the game or there was some truth to his title. He beat Wayne on all three throws. After besting Wayne, the Rat approached Luo. 'Arrite, i'll play yer game! Let's see what'cha got!''Watching the rat's timing, he would throw his three ''attacks'' in tandem with the elder.

"He... He tied? I-I can't believe this..." The old Turtle Hermit would think to himself, staring at his own little hand after the last "attack" he threw out against Luo. What now? Well, the terms were that they had to prove their strength against Nezu Mi, weren't they? With a small smile on his little face the old man would laugh loudly, seemingly proud of himself as he pulled his arm back, both hands clasped at the top of that walking cane. "Good try! Though, as I said at the beginning you both needed to BEST me in a test of mental strength. Tying counts about as much as losing!" Good save, Turtle Hermit. He'd offer a small shrug after, beginning to walk away from the duo back towards his house. "You both show great promise, I will admit. He stopped in his tracks to turn and face the two, his sunglasses reflecting the sun in a dramatic way as he stared them both down.
"I'll train you both, if you can prove yourselves in one last test. A test of strength. Against me!" It must have looked comical, both men towered over Nezu Mi, and without much of a power to feel, if they could feel ki at all, the duo must have thought this would be a piece of cake, if it was really worth it at all. However, Nezu Mi was about to prove them both very, very wrong. However, the Rat Man was interested in these two. The blonde one was at the cusp of going past normal human limits, he just needed another push. The other one's energy felt... different, yet Nezu Mi could have sworn he had felt it somewhere before. It definitely had traces of not being from this world, though. It was something much more... violent.
Calling upon all his energy, the Turtle Hermit's ki would flare outwards from his body, surrounding him in a flame of "white" energy, for the most part transparent and appearing to look like some kind of "wind" if anything. Within seconds, Nezu Mi's height would shoot up dramatically to just about 6'0 tall, and his muscle mass increased just as much! The top of his dogi ripped apart, revealing a multitude of muscles, massive pecs and arms, as well as a set of abdominal muscles that would make any bodybuilder envious! He'd take a stance, that walking cane held firmly in his grasp before tossing it away. He wouldn't need a weapon against these two. "At the same time now, and don't hold back!"
Let's turn this training up a notch!Nezu Mi has challenged Luo and Wayne to a 2v1 Battle!
