His hair is a dark brown color and spikes upwards and in random directions- he never really bothers to brush it that often. The saiyan's eyes are jet black and he has thin stubble on his chin. The saiyan's hair is pinned back somewhat by his brown and silver goggles, which he needs to see since he was born short-sighted. Capper's had the same pair for Kami knows how long, and is never seen without them- a friend should be concerned if they see his favorite pair of goggles lying on the ground...Capper wears a short, faded green cape with the collar popped up that extends down to his waist, along with a beige short-sleeved shirt with gold buttons and some cuts and holes here and there on the sleeves. There is a black tank top underneath his shirt, though. He has a brown belt with numerous nooks to put things on, and there's a small bag on the back. His pants are green and the saiyan's arms have some bandages wrapped around them, and a black glove with the back of his palm exposed. He wears a pair of matching black boots sometimes, but also can be seen walking around barefoot at times. Other times, the saiyan might wear a set of saiyan armor he commonly wore as a child, consisting of a blue tracksuit, gray gloves and boots, and a gray armorpiece lacking shoulderplates with faded green highlights. As he grew, the saiyan found himself getting uncomfortable in the armor, and decided to stick with more comfortable woolen clothes to suit his fancy.
PERSONALITY
HISTORYComplete Synopsis: Capper's an oddball of a saiyan. As a child, he was born with a measly power level of one, and became quite cowardly when his mother tried to "train" him, which mainly just resulted in a child Capper being repentantly beaten to a pulp. Sure, he did man up and decide to learn how to fight, but Capper's fear of violence never quite faded. The saiyan prefers to talk things out and find peaceful resolutions to conflict. Still, the saiyan is not a good person or a saint by any means. He can be quite snarky and rude, but also self-conscious and flighty. He can be quite juvenile and paranoid when pushed into desperation. Since he doesn't get a rush fro fighting like most saiyans, Capper is extremely cautious in battle. The saiyan makes emergency plans for just about everything, and is always thinking. Planning. Capper's tactical head as a technician grants him the ability to think in battle. For being so feeble and fragile at heart, Capper is an excellent strategist. When he's in a calm state, the saiyan technician puts logic over emotion most of the time to create strategies and plans for whatever. He's able to perceive the situation at hand and act accordingly with it- Capper will take action once he knows action CAN be taken and actually work. Unlike some saiyans, Capper possesses calm judgement and some measure of humanity. The saiyan would never kill in cold blood. He'd chicken out of killing another person, and isn't really built to be a warrior at his core.
Capper's insecure about himself- he knows that he's weird compared to the rest of the Northern Empire's warriors. He can be rather secretive about his work and hobbies, in fear of being isolated even more because of his interests- saiyans that enjoy cooking, drawing, and other mundane tasks aren't commonplace. Capper lacks the typical saiyan drive to fight as well. But if there is one thing he has in common with many other saiyans, it's the fact that the newfound fighter is really, really stubborn. He's blunt with his words despite the audience, but will keep things he knows will put him in harm's way in his head. The saiyan doesn't exactly put others any higher above himself, unless of course they are a saiyan elite or some type of royalty- of course the saiyan elites are ranked higher than himself. Capper is he is capable of putting others, including earthlings, higher than himself. He's just not used to others doing the same for him. The saiyan is not too arrogant or cocky either, as he thinks little of himself and can be a bit pessimistic at times. Capper easily jumps to conclusions and catastrophizes a lot. Capper, while a reserved person, does like to get his thoughts out. Since he doesn't exactly have any close friends to talk to, the saiyan writes in a faded green journal.
While he's usually pretty mature, there's a part of Capper that refuses to grow up. The saiyan can break into a fit of childlike glee if he ever met someone with common interests, or if he finds just the right machine part he was looking for to finish one of his creations. Capper used to be a technician and mechanic, and continues to mess with electronics every now and then in the safety of his own room. Capper is extremely intelligent and practical. He's self taught and is experienced in the world of robotics, coding, and most other things that have to do with technology. With enough tools and time, he can fix up almost anything! But he's not exactly a rocket scientist, and can't do much to fix spacecrafts- he can pilot most, though. Capper takes his work with just about anything VERY seriously, and is very perfectionistic with his duties. He tends to use overly technical words in his dialogue as well. He gets quite happy when others take him seriously despite his low status as a fighter. The only people he allows to call him pet names like "Cappster" or "Cap" are his parents. He doesn't like other people giving him nicknames of the sort. Differing from a certain smaller version of himself from another world, this Capper is somewhat of a fighter. While easily frightened at times, the saiyan does have a sense of pride and maturity. He's a grown man and a fighter, and takes pride in the fact that he has grown so much. He does prefer peaceful resolutions where everyone gets a happy ending, but Capper will not hold back in a real fight. He doesn't like fighting that much, thus he prefers to wrap up scuffles quickly. Sure, he does fear death, rejection, and loosing a fight, but Capper uses his fear to drive himself to win- if he doesn't win, who knows what would happen! Using his tactical head in battle, the once weak saiyan can prove to be a formidable foe in battle if you aren't watching your back...
Before we talk about Capper, let's touch upon his parents and their background. Capper's father and eventual namesake, Caper, was a rather proud fighter, like most Saiyans. Caper grew up possessing a rather calm bravado- he had seen plenty of shit on Daikondu as a child, and eventually grew bliss to others and his surroundings, allowing the soon-to-be father to simply not care about others or himself, really, and be able to think in battle without loosing his temper. That all changed one fateful day when the stoic saiyan fighter was assigned into a squadron with other low class northern warriors. The squad's leader, Cauli, was a violent and impulsive fighter. Her squadmates were like family, but she was always reluctant to accept a new member into her little tag team. At first, Cauli and Caper didn't hit it off very well. Caper mostly ignored his "commander's" impulsive choices, going off and doing his own thing. Sick of Caper's shit, Cauli challenged the saiyan male to a spar. While he was dismissing the idea of fighting, Cauli decked Caper right in the face while he was speaking! Thoroughly enraged for once, the saiyan attacked with all his might. He even had to whip out his family's special attack.OOC NOTES
Caper's bloodline had taught a special technique from generation to generation, which consisted of one summoning a skull resembling some kind of animal- a canine in Caper's case, and firing a blast of Ki from the skull's maw. The skulls were also sentient, and served as a way for the saiyan to relieve stress- they were floating skulls of death, but acted like oversized puppy dogs out of battle. Using these quote on quote "Caper Phasers", the saiyan male fought back against Cauli, but the saiyan female just wouldn't give him any breathing room in the battle! Eventually the two reached a stalemate, both too tired to even throw a punch at the other. After flopping onto the ground and having one of his Phasers whine and nuzzle his limp form a little before he got back up, both warriors had some degree of respect to the other now that they had proved themselves in battle.
Caper and Cauli got along after their first scuffle- the female even shattered the saiyan male's bravado and managed to even fluster him with a few unexpected flirts, and after working together for a few years, a little romance developed between the violent female and calm male. To shorten this story, they married and ended up having an unexpected child a year after their marriage. When little Capper, named after his father, came into the world, both parents were mildly disappointed to see he was born with an incredible, staggering power level of... one. Cauli was somewhat bummed that she spawned such a weak saiyan, but had faith that her newborn son would grow stronger- no, he would be the strongest there saiyan warrior there ever was! There had to be hidden potential beneath his weak exterior! Right?!Wrong.Even when he was old enough to be trained at the age of five, according to his mother, Capper was still extremely young and frail with his low power, and his mom's was godlike when compared to her son. During their first sparring session, Capper was knocked down in only two gentle hits. The saiyan mother tried again and again to toughen up her son, but their one-sided spars got to the point where a young Capper would just run right under his bed whenever his mom said the word "training." Why would he bother fighting when he was weak, and would end up just losing again and again? He'd just disappoint his mom by even trying at this point, right? Much to her own dismay, Capper's mom eventually gave up on trying to make her son into a fighter. The small saiyan picked up robotics and drawing as hobbies over the years, as he did not have much to do while the other saiyans were training. He'd tinker with his father's old scouter sometimes, or mess around with the wiring in his alarm clock. He likes to figure our how things worked, and taught himself how to fix and make many robotic creations, and even began to create his own robots, despite them being rather basic and not made for battle. Capper still grew close to both of his parents, especially his dad. He didn't judge his son too hard because he wasn't a fighter either, and took the time to get to understand his son. Capper's dad is the one person he'd ever really opened up to and just talked about life with. His mom would still sometimes pressure him into becoming a fighter so he'd be "normal"- which was something Capper wanted to be- he didn't like standing out as one of the only saiyans that was not a warrior. When he turned sixteen, Capper picked up a job as mechanic for a few years. He lived peacefully in the Northern Empire of Daikondu, quite happy with his life as a mechanic despite some rebuttals from his mother. However, Capper always would sometimes come home covered in bruises, since he was unable to fend for himself when he gave some of the stronger saiyans some snark. One fateful day, a particularly peeved demon Capper managed to beat in a video game was thoroughly pissed at the weak saiyan, and was out for revenge. The creature didn't go for Capper- no sir. Instead, the demon lashed out at the child's parents in front of him, forcing the saiyan boy to watch as his mother and father were beaten to a pulp, and he couldn't do a single thing. Capper managed to use his quick thinking to drag his parents out of the demon's gaze with a quick distraction, but broke down into tears after the whole scenario. His parents were nearly dead thanks to his foolishness, and he couldn't do a single thing to help them.
After his parents healed, Capper did the unthinkable. He asked them to train him. Both of the wounded warriors were shocked at the weakling's choice. After the saiyan explained himself, his mother reluctantly agreed to train the cowardly saiyan. Training was rough at first, Capper always had to resist the urge to run and hide, usually to no avail. He slowly became more and more brave, being able to stand up and use his tactical brain to dodge his mother's attacks. While he never grew out of his faint-hearted ways and never experienced an urge to fight or a rush in battle, Capper grew to be a strong and formidable foe. By the age of twenty one, the tiny saiyan had grown into a proud, six-foot-tall warrior. Capper joined his mother's squadron, and his father retired and began to work at a bar, deciding to follow his son's example before and see what a more quiet life was like- battling got old after awhile. Capper fought with his mother for a long time, but his faint and kind heart cuased the saiyan to always get squeamish around blood, and spare his opponents. Sometimes he wouldn't fight at all, and instead talk it out with his foes while they attacked. Mercy was not easy, but Capper always tried to find a way for everyone, even his enemies, to be happy.
Now fully grown and standing tall at an age of thirty-four, Capper still lives with his parents and works as a mechanic, sometimes going out and going on missions for the Northern Empire with his mother as a hobby to hone his battle skills. Now that Capper's more experienced, Caper now mentors his son, and is still trying to teach his kid how to summon his own blasters, just to carry on the family heirloom of a technique. Capper still struggles in fights, but he does put everything he has into a battle. Living peacefully with his parents in their small home, the Hofferson family's interests were piqued when a new king was appointed. Wary and curious of the future, Capper and his family are bound together as one, and are a force to be reckoned with when all three of them put their heads together.
