[Thread PL: 100 | EXP: 0 | Dice: 4d20] The brittle obsidian beneath his feet gave way to the softness of grass as Yin walked out of the Demonic Gate. The Ningyoushi shivered in response to the bright lights and crisp air. It wasn’t used to these sort of surroundings. The parasite wasn’t alone in this, as it’s host was also taken aback by the fresh air and grassy plains. Having been imprisoned in such a place for what felt like ages makes normalcy feel like a stark contrast. A naive eagerness gradually built within him. Yin bursted forward; racing atop the hilly plains, his body practically skimming across the tips of the grass blades. He maintained his speed while relishing how free he felt. While flying over a small pond, Yin caught a glimpse of his reflection. Seeing the black creature latched to him reminded him of the reason he was even allowed back here in the first place. His speed and expression dampened as he continued to the edge of the pond and planted his feet on solid ground. Sighing a bit, Yin sought to test his newfound power. He took a stance and building up energy until he deemed it powerful enough. His body released a burst of dark ki, singeing the area around him. The pond immediately evaporated and the grass and shrubbery around him disintegrated. The ash that was left radiated a dim, purple glow. His eyes glazed over as his mind stirred. This was his purpose now; a purpose assigned to him by the very beings he and the other Shinjin used to look down upon. However, this might be a good thing. Perhaps this power would allow him to forge his own path. Something he could never have done when he was training under the Kais’ authority. Yin didn’t know if this blasphemous thought process was his own, or tainted by the Ningyoushi’s growing influence. His mind accepted them regardless. Kensa

[Dice: 4d26 | PL: 500 | EXP: 100]
The white-haired Shinjin soared through the air above the seas, the feeling of fresh salty sea-air whipping across his face causing him to laugh a bit. His mission was going decently enough so far. Though he hadn't found a Demonic Gate just yet, he had found a cursed gemstone in an abandoned laboratory. Getting rid of that thing was a great step towards cleansing the galaxy of evil, no matter how small a threat the gem may have been. As he approached a large island in the distance, he could sense a strange Ki permeating the air around it. His brow raised curiously as he closed in on solid ground. He had been drawn to this place because of that power, but now that he'd gotten so close, it felt even more unsettling. He touched down on the grassy plains, his senses telling him that something was very, very wrong. A mighty explosion rung out on the opposite side of the island, and a chill ran down Kensa's spine. That Ki felt too familiar. Without a word, Kensa shot through the air once more, his heart beating faster than his body could move. In mere moments, the Shinjin would arrive at the site of the explosion, and his body would freeze. Just below him, standing at the edge of a large crater, stood a man Kensa had thought to be long dead. The fellow Kai looked just as he did all those years ago, but with a brand new chunk of cancerous flesh protruding from his forehead. "Y-Yin?!"Kensa touched down, landing on the opposite side of the crater that was once a pond. He stared at Yin, a mixture of confusion and despair written on his features. "Yin... Is that really you? After all these years?... What has happened to you?"Though his fellow Shinjin had not yet responded, Kensa knew that things were not as they seemed. Something about the energy Yin exuded was... Vile. It was as if his Ki was made of pure evil. Was this really the Yin he knew so long ago?

Yin turned toward the voice that called his name. It was Kensa. They never really talked much, but after such a long time in a horrible place like that, it made him want to greet any familiar face with open arms. The thought almost brought a smile to his face, but he couldn't get even a muscle to move before the tumorous growth on his forehead intervened. It told him things. Not through words, but through feeling. The Ningyoushi made him feel how inadequate he was when compared to Kensa. Again he felt the pain of knowing that he’d never rise to his true potential. The Ningyoushi's pulsing quickened. The hopelessness of being given up on before even being able to make an attempt of his own. And why? “You just weren’t born at the right time…” the words had come out of his own master’s mouth. Kensa said something else, but he couldn’t hear it over the ringing in his ears. Every day the elders praised Kensa’s merits. “He’s outstanding! There couldn’t be anyone more fit for the title.” A tirade of voices echoed through his mind. Yin’s heart began to beat in sync with the pulsing of the Ningyoushi. Yin forced his focus outward and took a breath.
The ringing stopped. The voices stopped. Yin closed his eyes. When he opened them, he was standing by Kensa’s side. Gently, he put his hand on the other Kai’s shoulder. His words barely raised above a whisper; “Kensa, it’s good to see you. Would you help test something for me? It won’t take very long.” Yin tightened his grip. “I promise.” His arm flung forward, attempting to skim him across the ground a fair distance away.

Kensa watched his friend with baited breath, sweat beading on his head as the young Shinjin sat still across from him. The strange protrusion began to pulsate wildly, which seemed to irritate Yin. Kensa considered moving forwards, but decided against it for the time being. Yin took a breath, and his body vanished. Kensa looked around for a moment, before being gripped on the shoulder harshly. He turned to Yin, who seemed to be eager to test something. Before Kensa could even consider the possibilities of what that meant, he was met with a fist to the face. The long-haired Shinjin grunted in pain as his body was flung backwards, causing him to land inside the muddy crater across from them. The Kai took to a stand slowly, wiping a clump of mud off the sleeve of his shirt. He stared up at his friend, his gaze stern. "I don't know what's going on with you, Yin, but I can tell it isn't good. If a fight is what you want, then I guess I'll just have to oblige."He floated upwards, hovering above the crater, as an aura of ghostly white Ki surrounded him.

Widening his stance, Yin slouches down, letting his arm go limp. “So, you’re going to humor my request? What an honor.” he says, concentrating. Dark energy swirls around the hanging appendage until the air around it begins to bend into a wave-like shape. Yin’s eyes shot an intent look. “Here’s test number one.”
Yin darts forward, gaining momentum before flinging his body upward. He brings his legs together and tucks his arms to his chest as he enters a ravenous horizontal spin; The Kaioshin becoming a black and white blur. The blur suddenly disappears from sight, only to reappear above Kensa! The ominous glow of Yin’s empowered arm flared as all the inertia he built up was focused into his elbow. The bright aura filled Kensa’s vision for an instant before he was sent plummeting to the ground by the crushing blow to his temple.

Kensa's body tenses up instinctually as Yin moved forwards. The Corrupted Kai was incredibly fast, perhaps moreso than Kensa was. Yin's body spun and spun, rising above Kensa, before plummeting towards him with an extended elbow! The defending Kai looked upwards, his arms crossing above him to dampen the immense force of the impact. Though he had blocked Yin's attack, the attack still held quite some power behind it. Kensa was sent flying downwards once more, though this time he was able to land safely in the crater, rather than in a painful way. Not wanting to be caught off-guard, Kensa shot upwards, his aura enveloping him as he approached Yin's location. He reeled his fist back before thrusting it up at Yin's jaw, hoping to disorient the opposing Kai for just a moment. Should the attack land, Kensa would follow up by gripping Yin's right arm and spinning wildly, before releasing his hold to send Yin flying towards the scorched earth below.

Must have missed this one from when I was cleaning up old threads.
Seeing as how this thread never really got off the ground, fight-wise and with our mechanic changes in place it would make it sort of impossible to continue. I will award both parties with the appropriate SP as well as a straight 150 EXP, 75 Zeni award. Neither 2x EXP Tokens will be used.
+150 EXP +75 Zeni +899 SP
NEW STATS: 4d28 150 EXP 750 PL 560 HP
425 Zeni 899 SP
+150 EXP +75 Zeni +693 SP
NEW STATS: 4d34 320 EXP 1,600 PL 680 HP

Adding now. Also, Kensa I will move you from the archived section back to the active member list. Welcome back.
If you get a hold of Yin as well I'd love to see them return as well.
