1st TENKAICHI BUDOKAI
May 5th, 2018
May 5th, 2018
As it stands now, the first ever DBUltimate Tenkaichi Budokai is slated for a May 5th start. The start is going to involve any preliminary matches we would need to do, or going straight into the final 8 of the tournament itself. It all depends on how many more entrants we get between now and the cut off of April 30th.
That goes into the next bit, CUT OFF TO ENTER INTO THE TOURNAMENT IS APRIL 30TH. There will be no exceptions to this rule, and anyone wanting to join the tournament as of May 1st will be denied. Any additional entrants before then are more than welcome, and we will engage in preliminary matches to get things rolling, no pun intended. Rules for the tournament itself will be posted in the coming days so everyone can prepare accordingly. This will include things such as item usage, transformations, as well as skipping and forfeits.
I look forward to something that will be a part of the entire site's history, as well as what everyone comes up with for their own character.

There will be an official DICE CAP of d50 across the board. This means, anyone over d50 by the start of the tournament will be scaled back to d50 for the duration of it.
Preliminaries will take place on the May 5th start, should we need them. If not, we will jump right into the Final 8 Fights.
For Preliminaries: Preliminary matches will be determined based off of a few things. Mostly time of registration and activity. This will be determined by myself and Kiwano should the discussion be necessary. Keep in mind, just because you registered second doesn't mean you would automatically not be looked at to be replaced. The last registrant could be far more active than you are, so we are basing it a lot on who we think is dependable here and will keep the tournament fun and interesting. Activity is rewarded, always. Make threads, be active. It is the best way to not be "punished" in instances like these.
For Final 8 Fights: For the real fights in the tournament the order of who fights who will be determined by closeness of rolls. The thread will be opened with the Announcer asking each fighter to step up and pick their number out of the box, in classic Tenkaichi Budokai fashion. The posts should not be terribly long, you guys are just reaching in and picking a number. 1d100 will be rolled and that will be your number. Duplicates will need a re-roll. The rolls will be determined in order and fighters will fight each other paired by closeness of rolls. The lowest will fight the second lowest, third will fight the fourth, etc.
From there, the fights will break off into separate threads so we can get through them a lot faster than waiting for each match to end. Each fight will be placed into brackets, so one will know who they are fighting in the next round and ultimately the finals.
No one will get any stat increases until the WMAT is over. Threads will be tracked on a separate T2G thread itself, specifically for the WMAT from start to finish.
Skipping and Forfeits: A player has 48 hours to make a post, whether initial or response, in any of the threads for the WMAT. Should a player need to be skipped 3 consecutive times they will be automatically eliminated. Should a player not even make it to picking their actual number in the tournament I will pick for them, and they will only have 2 skips until they are eliminated. Keep in mind, this is 3 SKIPS IN TOTAL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE TOURNAMENT, NOT PER ROUND. If you are skipped 3 times in total you are out, no if's, and's or but's about it. Not to make it harsh, as IRL happens and comes first, but everyone has had ample time to prepare. With that in mind, it should be no big deal if we need to eliminate you due to inactivity. It's nothing personal, just make sure to prioritize life and fun as best as possible in the future.

Now, for the details / rules:
- Only ONE character PER PLAYER is allowed. If you play more than one character, choose who it is you are going to use before registration is over.
- "Base" Dice cap is d50. Dice will be locked in as of the first day of the tournament. We will make sure that the capped level is fair for all parties involved.
- Transformations are allowed, ranging from item transformations to natural types. In light of making sure the arena doesn't get trashed in the first round, all giant sized transformations (i.e. Oozaru, Giant Namek) will grant the user the power but not the physical change. This can change depending who is in the finals and what either party is okay with during it. Item Transformations are obviously used up in the round they are activated, so stock up before hand.
- With the exception of Transformation Items, no items are allowed to be used. This includes Enhancers and healing items. As a note, if you have a healing trait you can use that, or any racial trait that takes the place of an item, but NO ITEMS THEMSELVES.
- Super and Ultimate Attacks, if you have them, are allowed.
- Inventory will be locked on the first day of the actual tournament, pertaining only to Special Attacks and Item Transformations, since nothing else is allowed.
- NO KILLING OR ATTEMPTING TO KILL ANYONE. This is a rule of the WMAT itself. None of these matches are DEATH MATCHES. Keep it clean and have fun. This is a community building activity, if anything. Everyone get to know each other ICly and even OOCly.
- Don't go crazy and try to take over the planet. Please. Again, just this as an experience to build with the community. Move forward with your personal plots AFTER.
- All trips TO Earth-2 can be taken for free due to the tournament until the registration end date of 04/30. After that, all trips to Earth-2 must be on your own. Trips OFF Earth-2 are NOT free, however and one must use their own ship to leave. The only time a trip off of Earth-2 is free is directly after the tournament's end and for participants of the tournament ONLY.
- JUST HAVE FUN!
Prizes:
The Zeni amounts are obviously OOC amounts, ICly maybe we'll inflate them more so it seems worth it.
2nd Place: 10,000 Zeni
1st Place: 20,000 Zeni & ONE Dragon Ball
