He was breathing heavy by the time he had finished his flurry. He’d let his emotions get the best of him. It’s good to have your dander up, his father would tell him, but it’s discipline that wins the day. Luo was obviously tough as nails. Those blows would’ve knocked lesser men unconscious. You might say that he wasn’t exactly ready for Luo’s attack. His muscles tightened just as the smaller man came at him, bruised but nowhere near beaten. Wayne kept his chin tucked and tilted to the side, giving Luo more shoulder than head as his first uppercut glanced off his broad, muscled chest. Finally catching his breath, Wayne tightened up his defense as the flurry of blows Luo launched slammed into the meat of his forearms, dealing little to no damage. Thinking the assault was over, Wayne loosened up just long enough for Luo’s roundhouse kick to catch him on the side of the head. Long story short, it hurt. Back to work. Wayne lurched forward, oddly different than his usual precise footwork, and with his arm folded threw an elbow toward Luo’s temple. He took a jab step forwards with his right foot before pivoting and attempting a spinning back-fist with his left hand. Wanye was getting a little flashy now, but he figured he’d need to change it up to keep him on his toes. Luo wasn’t going to just keep eating hay makers.

Clearly this guy had some heavy stuff bottled up. He'd swung and swung and swung some more during that vicious assault, and now it seemed he'd winded himself. As he lurched forward into his own uppercut, he noted Wayne's defensive movements. While at first the young man guessed this man came from a pro boxing gym, he was beginning to feel that he was a bit off the mark. The guy had good form, and his defense was bonkers. It was like with every move he made and with every incoming blow, he used that tower of muscle he called a body to soak up the blows and dish them back with return postage. His uppercut diverted into Wayne's chest; it hadn't landed where he wanted it to, but at least it landed somewhere! His follow up flurry of fast and furious punches stormed into Wayne's guard, but those beefed-up arms were having none of it. He'd probably feel a little bit of sting once Luo let up, but it was clear even to the attacker that it wasn't going to do anything drastic. What took him by surprise though was his roundhouse kick. He ate that thing clean! Come to think of it, Wayne hadn't been using his legs much in this fight. Maybe, just maybe, Luo was going about this the wrong way. Those huge arms threw punches like cannon balls. This guy clearly had the advantage in strength and when he was in business range where he could fight in a pocket, he didn't have to expend much effort to ring Luo's bell a couple of times. Luo opted to switch up his strategy a bit. He wouldn't have the chance to right off the bat however; Wayne was already on the counter-attack! An elbow soared in toward Luo's temple, causing him to realize he had no time to avoid it. Lifting his own arm, he'd take the blow his bicep which quickly began to sport a dark bruise. The power of the blow caused his footwork to stagger, leading him right in to that back-fist like a dance. It clocked him square across the cheek, loosing a small glob of spit to the pavement. With a grunt, he'd teeter off to the side and regain his footing at a slightly larger distance. If he could keep out that in-fighting range, maybe he could turn this fight around! He'd spring off of his back leg, bringing the other up in a snap kick aimed at Wayne's chin. His landing was aimed in the way of a leg kick to upset the giant's balance. After he'd gotten back in close, he'd throw a feint high punch toward Wayne's nose, hoping to divert his eyes for a split second to take a big step forward and add a good chunk of his natural speed into a thrust kick headed for Wayne's chest.

More contact made, more blows landed. Wanye was astonished by how many hits the smaller man had taken from him. He could not recall a single opponent who could absorb so much punishment. It wasn’t like Wayne was just touching him up, he was throwing everything and the kitchen sink at the fellow. As his two blows landed, he subconsciously became lax. This guy must go down soon. He’s tough as nails. The thought passed through his mind just as Luo’s kick collided with his exposed chin. His head snapped backwards. Spit sprayed into the air. Collecting himself, his inner monologue screamed. Pay attention! He dialed in his footwork and angled out of the way of Luo’s attempt to get him to topple over. Instinctively, he slipped Luo’s feint, thinking it was a real punch. He realized it wasn’t at the last moment right when Luo’s next speedy kick came towards his chest. He avoided the blow with a dodge that could only be described as “straight-out-of-that-movie-The-Matrix”. Wayne’s hips and torso folded over backwards. For a big fellow, Wayne possessed surprising joint mobility. His arms rotated backwards with his palms catching his upper body. It looked as if Wayne was about to enjoy a game of crab soccer. Jokes aside, Wanye’s left and right and legs fluttered out up towards Luo. The move could only be described as an improvised scissor kick. Was it sloppy? Definitely. Would you want to be hit by it? Wayne’s legs had more mass than his arms despite his lacking usage of them.

Luo was mostly an honest young man. He had to admit he didn't expect the reaction to his attacks that Wayne came up with. Did it come out of a panic? He wasn't so keen on dodging like Luo was. The guy had a big, burly body and knew how to soak up shots with it right up there in the league of a battle tank. His leg snapped up and collided with Wayne's chin, loosing a spray of spit into the air. The guy was damn quick for his size as he'd proven once again. Luo's leg kick was dodged with a surprising display of agile footwork, but the feint punch he threw had done exactly what he wanted it to. He watched the giant slip the half-punch, seeing it as a threat, and Luo followed up just how he planned with that powerful thrust kick. Wayne had responded by bending backward and catching himself on his hands. That was a damn tough maneuver for even him to do, and all through his childhood he'd trained with monks that could hold themselves up on their thumbs alone as a meditation exercise. This guy's strength must have been even more enormous than the half-breed had given him credit for, and he'd given plenty of credit where plenty of credit was due! Wayne's improvised scissor kick was creative, but Luo's mind was ticking away on instinct; from that position, he had a very limited angle to strike from. That dodge was impressive as all hell and left him awestruck, but the sloppy counter-attack headed his way was still a threat. Wayne's legs looked even more meaty than his arms did, so if that landed it was probably gonna hurt like all get out. Using his own agile footwork to spin to Wayne's side as the legs carved the air where he'd just been, he eyed his target hungrily. Coming out of his evasive spin with a lifted leg, he'd display an incredible amount of flexibility of his own by having his leg postured literally toes up to the sky. Bringing a hand up to pull back against it to store up some lashing power, he'd let loose a thundering ax kick to soar down right on course for Wayne's torso. He put his entire body weight behind the kick in attempts to crash that flexible body bridge right into the ground!

Creativity was important in fighting, but landing a hit was paramount. Wayne’s feet flailed at air. Not good. He was in a very vulnerable position as his legs slowly came back down to Earth. It was apparent Luo wasn’t going to waste any time in waiting for Wayne to assume a more plausible defensive posture. In this situation, Wayne had only one response. Tighten up and hope the next blow didn’t send him out the fight. His entire body tensed, muscles bulging, as Luo’s kick crashed down onto his torso. A large welt appeared just below his ribs. It stung like hell but didn’t pack enough punch to send him into the ground. Loosening up, Wayne curled at his torso, pulling his legs to chest before springing back up to his feet. The time for Wayne’s creativity was over. Stay in your wheelhouse. He stepped forward again, throwing another one-two combination at Luo’s noggin. Wayne was back to his typical boxing assault.

Luo's leg thundered down, but his impact seemed to fall short. Wayne had tensed and hardened his muscles like a brick wall; the desired effect that Luo was chasing didn't quite come to be a reality, but that doesn't mean it didn't probably hurt like all hell. His leg sailed downward and smashed into Wayne's body most likely hard enough to leave a nasty welt. The giant pulled his legs inward before springing up to his feet, conveniently right at in-fighting distance where he'd proven he fought best. With his maneuver not particularly allowing him quick evasive movement, Luo was going to get caught and he knew it. Wayne tossed out another one-two combination, one tagging the half-breed across the chin and the other sailing home right at his jawline. He was honestly surprised he hadn't lost any teeth yet, and was thankful enough for that much alone. After the combination, he'd let the soreness seethe as he rolled his jaw around with a lightly audible crack. He'd hop backward a short way and posture his upper body defensibly, lashing out with a strong kick aimed at Wayne's ribs. He'd then quickly lift that same leg and strike from above in a hook kick targeted at the side of Wayne's face, attempting to stay light on his feet and play out this fight at his own comfortable range. He just wished he'd tried this tactic sooner; he'd taken a lot of shots and didn't know how many more he could last through!

The dull thuds of his heavy hands connecting with Luo’s jawline had become a theme for this fight. The sheer will of the smaller Luo to continue coming back at Wayne began to surprise him. Tough bugger, he ain’t a city boy, that’s for sure. A different man, a lesser one Wayne would argue, may have started to question the strength of his blows. Our country friend, however, only wanted to see how many more it would take to fell the fighter opposite him. It was the best scrap Wayne had gotten into in a very long time. Despite their similarities in toughness, there was an obvious difference in skillset between the two fighters. Wayne didn’t do kicks. He wasn’t a martial artist. He just a farm boy with right hand that’d split wood. His eyes widened as he braced himself at the last second for Luo’s first kick. He misjudged the attack and folded his arm in at his side, bending his torso away from the blow as it struck beneath his ribs. That’ll be a welt. Before Wayne could gather his defenses, another kick smashed into the side of his face. His neck twisted away from the blow, a torrent of bloody sputum was rudely ejected from his nose and mouth. Finish the fight! Shaking off the assault, Wayne charged forwards again swinging a looping overhand right. His body pivoted to the side as he followed with a long uppercut with the opposite hand. It was an all-hands on deck mentality. He wanted the knockout.

Luo's kick to the ribs had connected with just about as much efficiency as his previous kick had, which wasn't at all a bad thing. The finishing kick to the one-two is the one that really looked like it hurt. Wayne let loose another glob of bloody spittle and Luo knew it wasn't going to be too long until he came right back at him for some revenge. He'd thankfully postured his upper body to defend himself as the bull charged back into the fray with an overhand blow. Slipping to the side, the strike whiffed past him and ruffled his hair with the force behind it. The opposite hand lashed up in a long-reaching uppercut; Luo would step to the opposite side he just had, letting it slip past his ribs. He then ducked slightly before shooting forward, bringing his front leg up in a hop to aim a bash of his knee to Wayne's torso. He'd then turn and hop past him, posturing himself for that same thrust kick he'd attempted earlier only using his backward hop to store momentum and then using his forward step to unleash it in his striking leg. He had to give Wayne credit; most people he'd had to brawl with in his line of work were only good for a clean shot or two. He honestly didn't know whether or not he could take any more than three more blows before he hit the pavement. The guy had given him an incredible challenge and a fight that he wouldn't forget for the rest of his days. He wouldn't call it quits just yet, though. He was going to follow this momentum and strike back as hard as he could to give this guy a run for his money!

Nothing but air. His overhand right missed by a mile in his mind. His follow up attack had a similar result. He had almost forgotten how much quicker the smaller man was then him. He had landed so many consecutive blows that he could’ve sworn Luo’s stamina would’ve dropped off by now. Wayne was paying the price for his forgetfulness. The all-out assault left him wide open. He knew that. Wayne was gambling he had a bit more left in the tank than Luo did at this point. Luo’s knee sunk deep into Wayne’s gut and he doubled over as the blow landed. He snapped his hips around, late, and caught the second kick flush. Pain washed over his senses. There wouldn’t be many more measured assaults from the farmer. His dander was up. He was on tilt. Wayne was just plain pissed. A grunt escaped his lips and he stepped forward, snapping his hips around again though this time with offensive in mind. He aimed a right hook for Luo’s chin, put as much as behind it as he could and followed with a straight left. One two combinations had worked previously, though these attacks were sloppier. There was more emotion behind them than pinpoint accuracy.

This time around, both kicks had landed square which filled Luo with even more motivation to dig himself out of the hole he was in. His precision kicks were quickly proving to turn the tables, but he wouldn't let himself get cocky. In fact, this was the time where he needed to focus the most! After his own shots landed, he prepared again to try and wiggle his way through Wayne's strikes. Something about him was different, though. It was almost like he'd lost his cool. He wasn't focusing so much on aim, and it was clear to see right now even to Luo that a lot of the power behind his incoming blows were being fueled by emotion. ''He's losin' it. Not that I mind right now. 'Nother one'r two o'them cannon punches an' i'm gonna be flat on my ass in no time! I gotta keep this goin'!'' Wayne's next shots came sailing in; first was that nasty right hook he'd caught a couple of times by now, at least he thought so. Past the ass-whoopin' he received earlier it was hard to remember the fine details. Luo ducked sharply letting that punch soar over his head, tucking in his arms to get ready for the next one as he watched Wayne posture himself for a follow-up. A straight left followed and Luo advanced right toward it before it loosed, shifting to the side as he continued to move forward. This time he'd dart forward with his elbow attempting to lance it against Wayne's gut. Afterward, he'd follow with a hard palm uppercut of his own aimed at the chin and then a back kick to get him back into his preferred fighting distance against the country brawler.

Two more strikes. Two more whiffs. Two more blows that sent Wayne almost to queer street. Luo’s elbow dug into his soft belly and before Wayne could even double over, the uppercut sent him onto his ass. His vision blurred for a second. He was hurt. Not out, but definitely hurt. He spit as he rose to his feet. He was still mad, mostly at himself for collapsing late like this. Guess we’ll find out what kind of man you are.
He closed the distance quickly, heading right for Luo. His left and right hand flew forwards with whatever energy still remained in his body. A flurry of punches rained down on Luo. The question was, would any of his heavy-handed blows connect with the slippery fighter? Wayne was surely hoping for a resounding yes.

Luo's elbow met the soft resistance of Wayne's belly before that palm uppercut slammed home. He was amazed; he'd actually managed to knock this giant right on his ass. That was a statement in and of itself, win or lose! However, Wayne quickly sprang to his feet and dove back into the fray yet something was different. Something seemed off. Instead of the normal one-two he had quickly grown famous with Luo for, he had changed his tactic. Luo was readied for another series of heavy blows, but that wasn't what was coming. In fact, the opposite was true. After slipping through the first two of the volley, Wayne began to rain those punches against Luo's defense. This was bad; one or two was easy enough to weasel out of, but a storm of them was bad news. Desperately slipping, ducking, and coiling, Luo's evasiveness eventually ran him out of gas. All he could do was toss up his guard to try and cushion the blows, and even that didn't work for too long. After he'd received enough of the strikes to his arms, the following two picked them apart and tossed them to the side. His body was soon ransacked with the remainder of the flurry, causing him to stumble backward which left him with three more clean tags across his chin. His vision began to fade, flickering from color to black and back again. As he stumbled backward at the end of the storm, he regained his vision and senses and darted narrow eyes at his opponent. Wiping his mouth and hocking a wad of bloody spit to the ground, he wobbled a few steps before regaining his composure. One more hit and he was done for. He had to make this one count. Charging forward with a roaring cry, he'd leap back into the fray with a flying overhead kick. As his leg landed from the action he would use the falling momentum in a reversal to tuck his body backwards and flip in a backward circle, bringing both legs up to aim a heavy double-legged kick right at Wayne's chin!

Wayne had held something back during his flurry. He remembered what had happened when he gassed out earlier in the fight, thinking that Luo would wilt from a series of heavy bombs from his right hand. It seemed that Wayne wasn’t the only fighter running off adrenaline at this point as Luo roared and advanced in the same breath. This fight was coming down to the nitty gritty. Weather the storm and send the lad home. The phrase ran through his mind as Luo’s counter-attack began. The farmer managed to snap his arms back tight to his head as Luo’s first overhead kick came in. Despite Wayne’s guard, the kick managed to sneak through and hit the side of jaw. The blow was muffled by his defense but it still was enough to hurt him. Once Luo began his second acrobatic assault, Wayne took a quick hop step backwards and tilted his torso back. Luo’s boots passed by the front of Wayne’s face only by an inch, though they did not find their mark. It would’ve been an easy maneuver to simply throw out a jab, or even a straight right as Luo landed. Wayne instead tensed his neck and slammed his forehead towards Luo’s. A good ol’ fashioned headbutt.

Luo's first kick tagged Wayne's jaw, managing to sneak through his guard to say hello. His acrobatic power kick on the other hand had been evaded, and he was marked with surprise when Wayne decided not to step back in to his comfortable range to let loose again. What was he thinking? Was he holding back now? Luo himself was pretty gassed out, but his opponent wasn't looking particularly energetic either. The end of this fight was coming soon, and he was sure both fighters involved could feel as much as well as see it clear as day. His boots missed Wayne's chin by what seemed like fractions of an inch, and he landed with a light stumble to regain his footing. What happened next was truly unexpected. Luo was fully expecting some more of those big punches to sail in but that wasn't what was coming at all. He watched Wayne crane his neck back a little as he approached, and that was all the cue he needed to know what was coming now. The monks had always told Luo he was hard headed. It was time to really find out. Reeling his own head back and gritting his teeth as he closed in as well, once the two fighters met Luo would throw his head forward just as Wayne had. It was his quickest way to counter that headbutt, and maybe that hard stubborn dome of his could dish as much pain back as he knew he was about to receive. When he felt the bonk, it rattled his senses and blurred his vision again, making his head start aching. It worked wonders to dull the recoil pain from his own headbutt, conveniently enough.

Luo was still standing and Wayne’s heady approach didn’t pan out, at least not in the way he wanted. It seemed Luo had the same idea in mind as his head slammed into Wayne’s. Totally unprepared, Wayne stumbled backwards from the blow as fresh waves of pain washed over him. With a grunt, Wayne could feel his legs wobble. It had been some time since he had been knocked out, but he knew another clean blow from Luo would do it. He shook his right hand, loosening up the wrist. There was no subtlety to this attack. Wayne stepped forwards, snapping his hips, sending every last ounce of energy he had into another searing overhand right. He felt good as he threw it. No way he’s up if this lands. It was a pretty big if.
