Thump thump...
Was his heart beating? Was he even alive? That beast had crushed the diminutive Arcosian, but Zeroth had matched him move for move. That would be something to be proud of, and he'd been concious, perhaps he would have. But the very fact that he had been beaten hurt worse than his crushed body at the moment. The Arcosian Elite had a deeper pain than physical and that was the pride which was damned near shattered at the hands of the King of the Northern Province.
Zeroth groaned as he lie there, every bone in his body throbbing. He could feel his pulse picking up, and he was still breathing at least. He lay there on his back, in one of those huge craters of dead Earth created by the battle with Retasu. With a low growl, the anti hero's clawed fingers dug into the dirt, scratching it up into the palm of his hand. He would stumble as he gained his footing and grunt as he held his ribs and began to slowly climb out of the crater.
Zeroth wasn't one to just give up so easily, and if his body allowed it, he would have kept fighting. Yet that cold fire of rage that burned deep within was extinguished by the fists of a giant ape. This was his first ever massive defeat so the Arcosian Elite was understandably down after he regained conciousness.
With every long and drawn out step, pain shot through the Ice Dragon of Gokkano's body. Sweat poured from his brow as the red sun beat down upon him, his abrasions stinging and causing a mild discomfort. But still, this hole wouldn't beat him. He'd damned near been killed by the King, yet he was still alive. His mind would become filled with thoughts of Vengeance. He would avenge his pride when he managed to meet the warrior Retasu again.
As soon as he emerged from the crater, he'd notice something very odd in the wastelands. In the distance, the warrior would see a large yellow cube with wind pushing the grass down below it. He tilted his head and lifted off, edging closer to see a group of figures gathered around the cube. Two very strange looking aliens standing at an entrance would stand there, scribbling on clipboards as Saiya-jins would enter what his blurry vision would soon recognize as a ship.
"Hrm...a ship...here? And why is it picking up these Saiyans?" He'd ask aloud. He couldn't really fathom what he would soon learn from a short fighter, a humanoid with a bald head who stood next to him. It was as if the warrior had appeared out of nowhere.
The bald human would go on to explain the situation to the warrior known as Zeroth. "Aww man! I'm stoked about this, dude! Ya see, this ship is a free ride for warriors headed to Earth 2 for the first annual World Martial Arts Tournament! This is gonna be dope!!!"
Zeroth narrowed his eyes, gingerly folding his arms across his chest. "Dope? Nevermind that...World Martial Arts Tournament? That sounds..." his lips curled upward, excitement glowing in his blood red eyes. "...interesting. So...this is a free ride?"
The young human would pipe up, grinning like a fool. "Sure is! I'm going to kick some ass in this tournament! I'm going to win and all the girls are gonna..."
The human's words fell on deaf ears as Zeroth cut his way to the front of the line without an excuse me or any sign of etiquette. When he heard the words Martial Arts Tournament, he deduced that Retasu would be present. He would have his revenge...he stared at the strange aliens and stated his name plainly. "Zeroth. Absol Zeroth. Legendary Arcosian Elite."
The alien would quickly write the name down, his three fingered hand trembling. There...was a new power in the Arcosian. Every warrior from a mile around could feel it. The Arcosian Elite had a secret, and in the tournament? He'd planned to reveal it to the world.
The trek to Earth-2 begins.
