The battle for Capital Hill had begun. Troops shot out of their transports, pouring into the fray as bombers flew overhead, launching rockets and the like into clumps of government soldiers. Tanks shot energy shells far into the back of the enemies waves, And pars himself stood idly by, watching the battle unfold with a few platoons of soldiers in the reserves alongside him.
Before the battle had begun, Pars stationed his armies atop a large and flat hill named "Capital Hill". He then sent a squad of soldiers to alert a nearby outpost of their presence, and hopefully draw out the government forces from the city. This worked and soon, the garrisons of nearby outposts and forts were rushing to the capital, hoping to repel what they thought of at the time, as an invasion from the north.
Pars seized the opportunity to then attack some nearby reinforcements, parts of the garrisons that had left the safety of their defenses to march across open fields to reach the capital. By the time the disorganized military government gathered up an army to defend the city with, a large portion of their forces was already defeated. Nonetheless, the two sides were still just about even numbers wise.
The hill raged with explosions, the two sides trying desperately to push back against the other. Pars himself soon joined the fight with his reserves, flanking around the sides so as to relieve pressure on the front. He blasted and struck his way through the waves of soldiers, creating a breach in the enemies lines, which he and his small brigade of soldiers pushed into.
Pars grinned wildly as he struck at soldier after soldier, letting out a blood-curdling war cry as he dodges and countered the endless amount of grunts thrown his way. He was looking for a few people, in particular as he pushed deep into the enemies line, the generals which had governed the empire in the king's absence. "Where are those damned cowards!" Anon yelled mockingly, his grin still apparent on his face as he let out a multitude of blasts, aimed at a few soldiers who had turned tail and run from him. "Tsk... I should've known... weak men like them would never dare lead their own men into battle!!!!" Pars yelled, more and more of his men pouring into the breach of the enemies lines.
In three day's (if nobody joins), the battle will be considered "won" and I'll make a post of Pars entering the city and proclaiming himself King of The South

Not a few minutes passed since the enemies lines were breached, that a general retreat order was given by local commanders of the government forces. Slowly, the entire organization of the Southern Army's forces broke down, and the army was soon in mass panic. They began running every which way, some towards the city, others towards the hill, some even refused to retreat, preferring to fight till the end or to just surrender to Pars.
By the end of the hour, it was clear who the victor was. Pars raised his fist to the sky, rousing a mighty cheer from his army. The cheers of his troops were shortlived, however, Pars beginning to yell above his soldier's ecstatic yells. "THIS WAR IS NOT YET WON!!, ONWARDS, TO THE CAPITAL!!!" He told his troops triumphantly, nudging one of his nearby officers to order the mercenary planes to patrol around the cities sky and make sure no pods left the area. Pars wanted to make sure this war didn't become prolonged by some government officials escaping and setting up another base of operations in some other city.
With that out of the way, Pars quickly set a perimeter around the city, choosing his best soldiers to start the push inwards to clear out any remaining resistance. He made sure that no plunder took place, and that any damage to the city itself was limited as his forces approached the city hall. Fighting begun to quiet down as Pars surrounded the Hall, and slowly, one by one, Soldiers poured out of the building, hands behind their heads.
After about a day's worth of fighting, the time was roughly 30 minutes to sunrise. Pars entered the building, surrounded by his generals and met face to face with the previous heads of government. They discussed boring stuff like terms of surrender for a bit, whether or not they could stay in power, etc. But by the time the sun rose, the officials agreed to Pars's number 1 term of peace.
He would become the southern king.
Many people welcomed this news, Their government being leaderless for the longest while. Others were more skeptical, fearful even (as they should be after a hostile government takeover). Pars quickly put these fears to rest though, implementing a few reforms within the first day which affected commonfolk and the rich alike. They lowered taxes, reformed the army slightly, granted workers pensions, and other such reforms. Obviously, there was still resistance, but it was minuscule enough that Pars didn't need to worry about it. The government was still in disarray, ministers needing to be chosen for this and that. Pars for the most part though kept people who knew what they were doing in power.
The Pepprans relocated to the vacant royal castle, renamed "Clara Victoria" by Pars, And the Human Mercenaries got their pay for their part in the war. Pars granted amnesty to all soldiers who had fought against him and invited them openly back into the army.
From life as a noble to life as a king, Pars sure had climbed quickly in the world. But all the luxuries, the fame, the glory, Those were things he could not yet experience, he had not the time to do so.
Standing on the balcony of his room in Clara Victoria 3 days later in the early morning, Pars stared longingly to the north. Peace was still truly not achieved. He knew the north would soon receive news of the new king, and he had no clue what the north would do next. {"the most i can do is prepare"} he thought solemnly, heading back into his room to dress for a long day of work, fixing up the government and reaching out to his people for their support.
