Mazohn wiped his mouth as the boy was sent careening away, a victim, once again, of his ki wave. But no matter how much the demon may outwardly appear confident, inwardly he was exhausted. This Earthling took his best attacks and sprung right back up like they were mere punches. In return, his attacks were devastating to Mazohn's stamina, forcing him to expend a lot of ki just to guard himself from their speed and strength. No matter what either of them professed, the next few exchanges would be crucial. Mazohn's aura burst forth in a crackling display of dark ki as the demon rose to his full height once more. The demon batted away the Earthlings preliminary ki attacks, sending them ricocheting into the arena floor. As the human closed, the demon almost rolled his eyes. Another face strike? Right after what I just said? The elders were right, these earthlings are too stupid to change. Mazohn thought as his arm shot up to guard against the predictable strike. But it appears that humans DID learn from their mistakes. Before the demon could react, Luo had shifted tactics abruptly, launching a short range explosion of ki into his chest. Mazohn was sent flying backwards for several meters before he caught himself. He then launched himself at the human even as Luo did the same, exchanging multiple heavy punches and kicks, with Mazohn slowly getting the worst of the exchange. After a particularly vicious kick hit the side of his jaw, Mazohn decided he had had enough. The demon aimed a sucker punch at the human's stomach, before vanishing and reappearing several meters farther back. Mazohn concentrated an extrordinary amount of ki around his left arm, bathing the limb in a purple glow. "STAND UP TO THIS!" He roared, aiming to slam the ki-enforced strike into the human's gut. dqOEZXuz3d43

It would seem that during the heat of this bout, Luo's dual-sided nature coming from his mixed blood had actually come to work together for once. While most often they instead clashed, now he was relishing this fight as much as any Saiyan, allowing himself to be entranced by it as his blood boiled hot; his human nature, on the other hand, was beginning to mount what seemed to be a very effective strategy to go along with it. His close-ranged detonation had worked like a charm, a confident grin painting his face. ''Yer biggest mistake was callin' out my mistakes. Ya gave me a chance t' correct 'em.'' He thought devilishly to himself. Rocketing after him in pursuit, he was surprised to see his foe recover and launch right back at him in tandem. The two clashed in a high speed flurry of exchanging blows, wowing the crowd to a uproar of ''oohs'' and ''ahhs''. As the fighters exchanged heavier and heavier blows, the crowd began to go wild with excitement and loud cheers! Luo was slowly but surely taking the upper hand in this exchange. He would notice the powerful strike headed for his gut and prepared himself to defend against it. He was surprised, however, when his opponent vanished a few meters away. A feint? Wait, he was going for a close ranged chi blast, wasn't he!? Quickly raising his arms to brace for another onslaught of energy, he fell for it and left his gut wide open. The demon's quick advance was too fast for his reactions to catch, and that energy-laced limb found itself buried deep, deep into the half-breed's stomach. His upper body doubled over as he let out a lurching, hacking cough. Air escaped his lungs, carrying spittle and a few tinges of blood with it. His eyes bulged as pain racked his senses. This guy was a lot better than Luo had been giving him credit for. Worried about his opponent following the assault swiftly, Luo had to think of a plan and fast. Staggering away a few steps from the gut punch, oxygen began to return to his body and allowed him to calm his breathing. A spiral of chi began to swirl within the palm of his left hand. It was time for a swift and sudden counter-attack! Loosing a blast beneath his feet as he hopped backward, he would use the cover of the dust and smoke to his fullest advantage. With high-speed movement, he would reappear in the air above the stage before hurling his left hand forward and snapping his hip to add velocity to his attack. A potent yellow beam of ki would erupt from his hand, making its way quickly to where his opponent stood! ''With how much ya like blasts, how's about ya 'ave one back!? HAAAAAAAAAH!''

Mazohn took satisfaction from his opponent's stunned gasp, knowing that that attack had wounded his adversary. Before he could savor in this victory, however, the strange man had fled once again, using the dust generated by his ki blast as cover. The demon snarled, releasing an omnidirectional kiai to clear away such an annoyance. Sensing an eruption of ki behind him, Mazohn turned halfway around before being struck in the back by a concentrated wave of pure ki, which sent him skidding on his side, nearly running over the edge of the ring. Filled with rage, the demon abruptly vanished from his position, reappearing behind Luo to assault him with a barrage of kicks and strikes, designed to make the human suffer as much as possible! His clever smokescreen hadn't lasted for long, thanks to Mazohn adapting to it and blowing it away to see clearly. Thankfully, it had given the half-breed just enough time to launch his attack! The wave of energy barreled into his foe, pushing him across the ring with its impact. He didn't expect this to end in a ring-out, though. No way. At least not yet. He's suddenly lost track of his adversary, which could mean several things. Before he could make any kind of guess as to which, his eyes went wide as he felt Mazohn's energy reappear behind him in an instant. A barrage of blows battered his back, and it was all he could do just to turn around and away from the force and raise his arms to defend himself as best he could. Slowly but surely his defenses were beginning to crack and give way; a kick landed on the ribs here, a tag across the chin there... he had to reverse this pressure if he was going to claim the win. Calming himself as he weathered against the blows bruising his body, he suddenly got an idea. Biding his time and summoning his chi as his opponent continued the offensive, Luo in a short matter of moments building up would then unleash it in a small, focused explosive wave! Hoping to knock his attacker off balance, he would follow up by grasping for his arm to reel him in and knee him in the stomach, then whirl him around in his grip to stumble him on his feet right into the path of a heavy twisting kick!

Mazohn laughed insanely as he continued to pummel the boy, working more and more strikes through his defenses as time went on. The human surely couldn't take much more of this, the demon could feel his ki dropping with every second! It was only a matter of time before he was victorious, only a matter of time. This was the reason he was caught completely off guard when the human made his riposte, barely having a moment to get his defenses up before the wave of pure energy crashed against his body, sending his tumbling away, wounded. Luo's reel and subsequent strike landed perfectly, further damaging Mazohn and causing him to hack a bit of blood. The demon was exhausted, at his limit in terms of both ki supply and endurance, but he still had the will to fight on. As the human attempted his heavy kick, the demon would parry it with his forearm, then attempting to jab at the human's shoulder, his flat hand coated in a ki aura, in an attempt to pierce the boy's shoulder. sPb7RHbp3d43

As the pummeling kept on commencing, Luo became confident that the sudden emergency escape plan he'd come up with on the fly was going to become his best option. Launching the explosive wave in the midst of his opponent's creepy cackling, the plan bore fruit; he'd managed to knock him away and gain some distance, and effectively reset their close combat encounter. With the renewed space, they were now at square one (which was something Luo intended on quickly correcting). He then quickly closed the distance, his powerful knee strike landing clean and causing him to grin for a moment as he savored the impact. Each strike brought him closer to the win. It brought him closer to meeting the other tailed combatant, Retasu. He had to win this fight, if only for the opportunity to get some answers out of the other tailed fighter. His follow-up strike was parried expertly by his opponent, but then and there came a counter-attack he hadn't expected. His opponent's hand went flat, alighting with a glow of energy before lashing forward in a darting, thrusting motion. Before he could really realize what had happened, he felt the tender flesh below his surface skin give way, and a clean hole had been punched into his shoulder. Roaring in pain as he grasped the wound and backed away, he would clamp a hand around it as his clothing began to slightly dampen with blood. With eyes of malice, he stared down his aggressor! Angry as he was, it had been a clever tactic. Now the fight could possibly come down to a time limit if the half-breed headache had ended up losing enough blood before this finished. That was something he couldn't allow to happen. The hand clasped over the wound and applying pressure lit up with its own dull glow of energy; he was cauterizing it, of course. If he could burn it shut with his own energy, he wouldn't have to worry about it until the medical staff could get to it. Growling as the deed was done, he made a note to keep an eye on the wound. Mazohn was very likely going to aim for it going forward. The Saiya-jin portion of his blood was practically on fire. Real blood had been drawn now. Luo was ready to hit this guy full force, with all that rage backing him! His stance would sink back slowly, as he entered that sprinter's pose one more time. Gritting his teeth and keeping his eyes glued to Mazohn, he would suddenly spring off his lead leg and use his arms to propel him further, his form flashing from view. There weren't going to be any tricks this time. No diversions, no feints! This was going to be the real deal! He would suddenly reappear before Mazohn, face-to-face, before lurching out with a powerful headbutt. If he managed to land it, he would then viciously crash one of his legs into his foe's, hoping to cripple his balance and maybe even sweep him off his feet entirely. Following that would be a powerful upwards kick to launch him to the sky for a one-two kick, where to finish the combination Luo would rocket up after him and attempt to bury his heels into his back and ride him straight back to the tiles in a powerful aerial stomp!

As soon as the stab landed, Mazohn knew that he had won this match. The wound was deep and true, and would likely greatly impact the human’s ability to rotate that limb through its full range of motion. The demon yanked his bloody hand out of his shoulder, flicking it to release most of the blood. Incredibly, the human was still moving and functioning despite his heavy wounds. Mazohn watched as he managed to cauterize the wound with nothing but his raw ki, which spoke of a great mastery of ki control. But that wasn’t important right now. Both fighters were at their limit, and Mazohn would have to be careful he was not the one pushed over. As Luo flared his ki, settling into his strange pose once again, Mazohn flared his own power, the demon’s battle rage and utter malice boosting his ki far beyond anything he had ever felt. The spectators would feel the waves of pure force emanating from the pair as they prepared for their final clash, a duel that would likely become histories. The tension then snapped like a bowstring as the two fighters charged, head butt meeting head butt, causing a massive wave of force to emanated outwards. Before Mazohn could continue, the demon abruptly lost his balance from the leg sweep, taking a heavy hit to his back. The demon howled in agony, releasing waves of ki to stabilize his mid- air tumble. He stared down his foe, lightning emianting from his claws. “DEMON GATE: HELL’S THUNDER!” He roared, firing a flat jet of energy to either side of the charging luo. Two massive enscribed cicles would form to either side of Luo, releasing massive tendrils of ki and demonic magic, hopefully brutalizing him into unconsciousness. 5xxU_u1|3d43

The two energies flared up and eventually twisted into each other, forming a whipping wind of energy. The crowd roared at the expectation of a final clash to this incredible round of combat, and even that cheer was deafened by the one that came next when the clash finally happened. Literally going head to head now, the fighters collided. Luo's unbalancing kick worked well to set up what was to come next, allowing him to land a clean hit to his opponent's back. Distance was once again created, and with it, another construct of dark energy from Mazohn. He'd learned a lot about his opponent in their bout; enough at least to worry about fighting him again outside of the tournament grounds, where there were no rules or bystanders to hold either of them back. Preparing to close the distance again, Luo was flanked at either side by his opponent's uncanny energy attack. While at first he thought they were going to explode, he halted briefly as they expanded into circles releasing crackling sorcery and whipping, lashing tendrils with jagged ends. Biting into his skin as he attempted to break free, the dark magic shocked him right down to his core; he had to change his situation, and he had to change it now. Gritting through the pain, he would summon his energy for what he hoped would be the final time. Roaring out, an explosive white wind would shatter either construct to his side, blowing back the slashing and whipping byproducts within. Soaring through the air upwards with his fist coiled down near his hip, upon reaching Mazohn he would snap out a mighty flying uppercut! Hoping to rock his senses and land it cleanly on the chin, he would swiftly follow up so as to prevent some kind of recovery if he could. Letting loose a volley of machine-gun kicks, he would finish finally by tucking his body inward and rolling forward, bringing one of his legs down in a powerful finishing kick from above! ''I'm going to fight Retasu in the finals...''''AND YOU'RE NOT GONNA STOP ME!''

With that final attack the first round between Mazohn and Luo had ended. Mr. Announcer got on the microphone just as the loud gong had gone off signaling the end of the round. "The winner and advancing to the semi-finals; LUO!" Gains to follow shortly.
