Perfect! That blast from his ambush position looked like it had really carried some weight behind it. He felt confident when he fired it, knowing that since it was traveling upwards he didn't have to worry too much about any collateral damage. This Retasu guy was some other kind of tough, though. He struggled against the potent construct of energy as it carried him ever upward, and Luo's head craned to look upwards just as everyone else's did. Seeming like his opponent couldn't roll off the blast, he watched the large detonation in the sky and began to wonder if he'd overdone it. He wasn't out to hurt anyone, after all. Something in his gut told him that this wasn't quite over yet however. His suspicions were confirmed when a massive pillar of blue energy ripped back down through the crowds at breakneck speed. Shocked and caught flat-footed, there was no way Luo was going to be able to avoid it! Tossing his arms up and crossing them in a desperate guard, he defiantly held back the energy for a few seconds before he found himself overwhelmed. Tackled into the tournament arena floor by the blast which then detonated, a massive explosion engulfed the arena and sent pieces of tile dancing across the grass outside of it. Groaning as he lay still for a few moments to compose himself, the top half of his outfit was now in tatters; the loose, ragged pieces of cloth fell away from his body as he stood, but he still kept that til tucked inside of his pants and around his waist. So they were bringing out the big guns now, were they? Luo could answer in kind! His white wind of an aura enveloped his body, slightly distorting the air around him as the area surrounding him shook lightly. As he postured down into a sprinter's pose, a crackle of energy and a loud pop is all that would be heard when he sprung off of his leading leg, aiming himself toward the sky. In a blister of speed he would reappear on the other side of the dissipating cloud of smoke, striking down hard from above with an elbow aimed to the top of his opponent's head! He would vanish again, this time striking at Retasu's lower back by attempting to bury a fist into it. If he got him to coil backwards from the blow, he would lace his knuckles together and swing them at the side of his head to rocket him back down to the stage! HP: 616 / 990 GP: 5 / 6

Retasu's breaths were becoming a bit ragged, chest rising and falling as he maintained his pose, hands smoking from the intense power that had left them just moments before. The explosion on the ground was nearly strong enough to wipe out a portion of the arena, thankfully he was skilled enough to concentrate it on his target only. Said target seemed to survive, though his clothing (much like his own) had seen better days, though neither seemed to be wearing a durable enough armor to withstand such powerful attacks. His arms lowered slowly, wiping some sweat from his brow, not expecting Luo to retaliate so fast.
His calculations were off.
As the Earthling bounded upwards in a flash towards him, Retasu's grimace returned. Lunging forward, he missed an attempted strike on Luo, only to have the shifty fighter slam an elbow into the top of his head. That was quickly followed up with a jab to his spine, feeling the impact slam into his skeletal structure. However, the final strike was somewhat deflected, the double fist smash did not make contact with Retasu's head, rather it did his own arms as they crossed over himself in an "X" formation to protect him. It sent him flying backwards, but not far enough to where he would have been anywhere near the fighting stage. Perhaps an aerial "dance" was in order?
He'd break that forced flight backwards by pushing himself back towards Luo, rearing his right arm backwards in an attempt to slam his fist right into Luo's cheek. It wasn't pretty, but it was intended to get the job done. Once that right fist came forward to strike, whether it his cheek or some other part of his body Luo was using for defense, Retasu's left would follow. He'd send heavy-handed punches all over Luo's upper body. Perhaps he could break down the Earthling's stamina even farther with a scrap in the sky, forcing him to use his stamina to both stay on the defensive and fly.

Retasu had managed to defend himself at the last moment, but not before taking a fair amount of damage beforehand. Instead of the fight going back to the ground, it seemed the pair were going to stick to the skies. This was going to be interesting; even among gifted fighters, Luo found it extremely rare that anyone else had the same skill. Most likely to the awe of the spectators, the two restarted their engagement across the sky with Retasu closing in fast and landing a rough and quick hook to the half-breed's jaw, knocking him off balance for a brief moment. That moment was just the window his opponent needed to capitalize on, and that came in the form of a much more vicious left which the earthling fighter took just about all the force of. Heavy punches began to litter his body as his balance and vision recovered from the rocking blow, causing him to recoil with each hit and grimace as the flurries continued. When he finally got his focus back, his fist would meet Retasu's next punch blow for blow to reset the engagement's flow before Luo started swinging back. The pair entered an aerial waltz of blocks, slips, evasions, and thrown blows, but as of yet it was unclear who was going to regain the offensive advantage. After slipping a punch, Luo swung with a hard cross punch which stopped short, his other hand following closely behind in an uppercut with energy charged to the palm headed for Retasu's stomach. Releasing a potent bolt of ki at close range, he hoped the surprise attack would work in his favor. With a quick back-dash, he would summon a small orb of ki and launch it with a powerful kick before closing back in and attempting to throw a hard swiping elbow right toward his nose!

Retasu's blood was boiling, not in anger, though. For the pure blooded Saiyajin the heat building up in his body was only a testament to how much he was enjoying himself in this fight. His kind lived to do battle, to get stronger. Their power was virtually limitless. Retasu only found himself getting more pumped up despite his pain and the bruises littering his body. His body felt heavier, each attempt to attack or defend took more energy out of him, yet he still wanted to continue. He wanted to win.
Retasu would take the bait on the fake punch from Luo, finding that energized palm digging deep into his midsection before a bolt of ki struck him like lightning, sending a shock into his body that forced the Northern King to launch backwards some, doubled over and clutching his midsection with a flinch. "Tch! He's still using feints..." Retasu grimaced before finishing the sentence in his mind, "...and I keep falling for them." His unconventional way of launching a ki attack, via kick it, was quickly intercepted however. Arms uncrossed as a single arm swatted at the blast, sending it farther up into the sky, detonating elsewhere yet still having caused some pain to Retasu's bare skin, albeit not as much as it would have should the blast had exploded entirely on him. With Luo rushing forward, the elbow would come, Retasu leaned back some to throw his own elbow out, having the two joints meet each out in a clash, though his arm instantly would go numb from the force, that "funny bone" sending tingles through that side of his body. Though the Saiyajin bone structure was one of the most durable, it was still susceptible to such things, funnily enough. "You are slipping, Earthling..."
In one motion, Retasu would attempt to take that arm of Luo's, the one that had come at him elbow-first, and wrap it up under his own arm. A quick shift of his hips, and the pure blood would attempt to send the half breed back down towards the arena floor with that aerial "hip toss." If he was able to, he'd launch himself forward as well, clasping a hand over Luo's face and gripping it tightly. "Hopefully the arena doesn't give out!" With that head still in his grip, he reared it back before launching it forward, attempting to slam Luo's entire body into the tiled floor at such an alarming speed, most people likely covered their eyes for fear that one of them, if not both of them, would land with a SPLAT!

It would seem the damage was indeed taking its toll on the young hybrid; he found himself slipping, catching his own mistakes with his body unable to correct them in time. His blows had weakened, and he knew he had to do something NOW if he was going to flip this fight back in his favor. Retasu's powerful hip toss ripped him from the air, sending him careening toward the arena floor. When he saw Retasu's hand reach out to grasp his face, he realized there wasn't much he could do but he could at least lessen the damage by mounting a quick defensive. Crossing his arms in front of his upper body and face, Retasu's grip would instead find itself in more of a push to Luo's guard, but this was still going to hurt quite a bit. They were traveling too fast for him to roll off his opponent's maneuver, so he cloaked himself in his energy and prepared for the worst. He slammed back first instead of head first into that tile, leaving a small crater into the particular one he'd landed square on. He choked for breath as the oxygen fled his lungs and spilled into the air, along with a burst of spit and blood. While he didn't fully understand his ancestry, he was guessing the mystery part of him was to thank for his spine not shattering into pieces from the impact. Stunned momentarily and twitching slightly with his eyes rolled back, he would turn onto his side and weakly begin to lift himself up on shaky hands. The crowd let out a gasp of shock and awe, but whether that was because Luo had survived it or them having seen the attack at all was anybody's guess. Staggering back as his limbs finally stopped their shaking and he regained his senses, he would drag his hand across his mouth and peer down at the blood. Even though a loss was looking likely, something inside him was...sated. With his nerves on fire and his every thought screaming for violent combat, his aura would swell in what could have very likely been the very last time in this bout. Even if i'm gonna go down...i'm gonna fight with EVERYTHING I have left!''
For the brief moment, he thought of Wayne and his loss to him. He'd studied how he fought in private, and now that Retasu had gotten used to his tricks maybe it was time to fight more honest. He smirked, getting light on his feet and tucking his fists up level with his chin. With a quick sway left and then a heavy stepping sway right, Luo would vanish. Coming out of his Meteor Impact's momentum, he would instead of his usual feints go for a more direct approach; a powerful hook sailed in from the right, headed right for Retasu's jaw. The next blow would come from the opposite hand, looking to bury deep into his foe's gut. The final blow of the combination came in a leaping uppercut if he could get his opponent to keel over, soaring up for his chin to blast him into the sky! He still had fight left in him, and it was time to show it! Wayne, wherever you are, this one's for you!

Retasu had backed off some since his onslaught, watching as the dust and destruction settled down to show Luo laying within a newly formed crater in the ring. The crowd went hushed but quickly picked their chatter back up once they saw the "hometown hero" move and come to his feet, albeit slowly. The roaring approval was deafening, Retasu rolling his neck some to pop out the kinks in it. "I'll be damned. I guess he is that tough. I don't think there's anyone back on Daikondu even close to that strong..." were the words that went through his mind as he watched Luo ready himself once more. "But how much can he have left in the tank? I'm pushing him to his limit, that's for sure. I'm in no better shape, though. What's it going to take?" Once again, the thoughts raced through his mind.
However, his thoughts were cut short as his body instinctively tensed up at the sudden feeling coming from Luo. Charcoal colored eyes narrowed down at him, the hairs on the back of his neck stiffened some at the sudden rush of power that washed over him. He was starting to be able to feel other people's energy in bursts, and Luo was definitely bursting his energy through. "Does this guy not have a limit?"
As Luo's form vanished away and reformed, Retasu thought he would go for another feint. "Got yo--!" But instead was nailed directly with that punch to the jaw, cleaning his clock and rattling his brain in the process. He was slowly losing consciousness just from the surprise jaw shot, but found the air forced out of his lungs from the gut punch before a devastating uppercut was pinned directly to his chin, sending the Northern King flying upwards, in quite the dramatic fashion, and landing on his back in a heap near the edge of the ring, completely motionless.
It was then that Mr. Announcer began to administer the mandatory 10-count to see if Retasu was completely knocked out. The crowd waited on baited breath.
At around five or so, the Saiyajin began to stir, with a grunt he came to a slow seat and broke the count with his shoulders off the arena floor. He was seeing stars for sure, every movement was in pain, not to mention he was dizzy from the shot to his skull. "Y-Y'know... when I opted to fight in this tournament... I didn't think I'd find anyone as strong as you. Hell.... I didn't think I'd find anyone as strong as me. You... You proved me wrong." It was one of the few pieces of credit Retasu would give to Luo, as he finally came to a full stand. "But this ends here. I have too much riding on this. I can't go back home as a loser... I WON'T!"
The anger within him rose, bubbling like magma ready to erupt from a volcano. His own experiences came to mind, his loss to the N-PTO member, Kiwano. His defeat at the hands of the Southern Saiyajin Pars and his Hybrid companion, Beefa. He could not allow this to be the same.
"This is... EVERYTHING!" His own aura surged as he pushed forward, pushing what was left of his energy into one final blow. As he got close, all of his ki was transferred into his right fist, which was reared backwards and ready to strike. With nothing left in the tank he let it all out.
The fist, if he could, would be thrown forward and sent directly into Luo's own jaw. It was a simple attack, and probably was clearly visible and wide open. Simple, yet crude. If he was able to land that final blow, with all of his ki dumped into it, his hope was to send Luo flying outside of the ring.

After his devastating combination of punches landed dead on, Luo landed back on his feet and watched his opponent hit the ground. Watching closely for any sign of movement, he carefully inspected Retasu from afar. The announcer raced over to the edge of the ring and began the count, and once he'd passed three, Luo began to wonder if he'd actually finished this guy off. A look of surprise and relief painted his face as the count hit five, but he quickly regained a serious expression when Retasu began to stir. This guy...what's it gonna take to put him down!?The credit he received really made him think. This guy was incredibly confident in his abilities, and he couldn't have been any kind of a slouch to make it into the finals match. ''Honestly? I feel the same, yeah.'' He began. ''I'm a mercenary by trade. It isn't every day I come across anyone that can give me a challenge, much less match me entirely, ya know? This fight's got me thinking about a lot of things.'' He'd gotten some vague answers out of the tailed man so as to clue him in to his heritage, but there was still plenty he needed to know...and possibly, even see. ''I'm not losing either! You said Daikondu, right? Then however this ends, i'm gonna find a way there. I still have questions that need answers. If that means I need to follow you across space to this ''Daikondu'', then that's exactly what i'm gonna do. But Earth is my home, and taking this win is my job! Come on!'' Luo had been more exhausted than he was letting on. When he felt the surge of power from Retasu before the punch, he already knew he didn't have enough energy left to be able to get himself out of its path. The fist cracked against his jaw, letting loose a spray of spit and a few flecks of blood. Luo barreled backward, rolling sideways and then hitting the ground in a roll with his senses shaken. By time he stopped, the area around him was spinning. He planned on using a few seconds of the count before he got back up. By time the announcer had made it over and got to six, Luo suddenly thrust his hand out and covered the mic to mute him as he stood up on shaky legs. Not willing to waste any more time rebuilding momentum, he gritted his teeth and kicked off in flight on a beeline right for Retasu. Upon arrival, he would lash out his right knee and attempt to slam it into his chest. He'd then plant that foot firmly in and use it as leverage to roll backward, bringing up his other leg in a backflip kick aimed right under his opponent's chin!

The last attack was all he had left, every bit of energy drained from his body slightly hunched over. The Announcer began to do his ten-count, standing over the fallen Luo as he began, the crowd on the edge of their seats. Most of them would have bet that Luo was done, but Retasu could tell differently. His skin tingled, feeling some form of life within his opponent's body still, not that he was intended to kill the Earthling, but he certainly wasn't down for the count yet. "C'mon, I can still feel some energy in you, Luo. Finish this, then..." Retasu thought, Luo's speech slightly winning the Saiyajin King in the North over.
Retasu could no longer defend himself, watching with nearly glazed over eyes as Luo rushed him. He stood there, unable to move as the knee crushed into his bare chest before that back flipping kick uppercut him right on the chin, sending Retasu flying backwards and crashing to the out of bounds area.
Retasu was out, he had lost... again. Had he been able to put together any thoughts he would acknowledge his hurt pride, however he knew that it was the end of line for him. Beaten, he simply lay out on the outside grass, off the fighting arena.

On the edge of their feet, everyone watched as Luo surprisingly popped up before sending Retasu spiraling out of bounds! With that, the match was over as the gong sounded, Mr. Announcer getting up on the fighting stage suddenly, standing next to Luo and shouting over the screaming crowd. "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WITH THAT THE FIRST EVERY TENKAICHI BUDOKAI IS OVER! AND OUR WINNER IS NOT AN ALIEN, BUT A HOME GROWN EARTHLING HIMSELF! I PRESENT TO YOU OUR CHAMPION; LUO! HANZHAI!"
Fanfare would play, the crowd would go absolutely out of control in celebration. They had their Champion and he was from Earth-2, although unknown to them he was not purely a human, though he was one of them for better or for worse. His name was Luo.
