It was finally time. The crowd had waited around thirty or so minutes after the final Semi Finals match between Luo and Giya had ended with the latter forfeiting soon into the match. Now, with the sun setting on Papaya Island, giving the Earth-2 sky an orange glow, Mr. Announcer made made his way onto the stage with the final two competitors with microphone in hand. "Ladies and gentlemen, it is finally time! At least, we are ready to go forward with the finals of Earth-2's first ever Tenkaichi Budokai!" The crowd went wild, Mr. Announcer pausing for a bit before continuing. "Introducing our competitors. First, after a grueling match against the unknown being Mazohn, he was able to bring the mighty Giya to her knees in a forfeit defeat. Earth-2's very own, Luo Hanzhai! And his opponent, who defeated his brethren in the first round and went on to defeat Tundra in a grueling semi finals match, Planet Daikondu's Retasu!" Another brief pause before Mr. Announcer screamed, "BEGIN!"
A gong would sound, signaling the beginning of the match as Mr. Announcer hopped off the stage.
THE FINALS HAD BEGUN!

This was it. This was where both of these fighters were going to put everything on the line. Luo had fought his way here just as Retasu had, and now he could finally try and get some answers out of the tailed fighter. Sizing him up as the announcer got to work with the introductions, he would wait barely a second after he finished to speak up. ''I noticed somethin' about you right when we first drew our match-up numbers.'' His eyes would shift over to Retasu's tail. ''That tail o'yours. It turns out i've got one that looks exactly th' same, and i'm wonderin' what that means.'' He was no fool of course; his own was tucked beneath the waistline of his pants, keeping it out of the way and safe from harm. ''So before we get started, i'd really like t'know why you're the only other person i've ever met that has one too.'' Firing off his question firmly, he would unfold his arms and sink into his martial arts stance. While amateur-level, he could still get an accurate feeling on how strong this guy was with his senses alone. This was going to be one hell of a fight.
His trials and ordeals throughout this tournament had left him with a strange mixture of emotions. The fight hadn't even begun yet, but he could already feel that mysterious side of his blood running hot like fire. His calm white wind of an aura slowly began to grow turbulent as he sharpened his focus, reaching a state of mental clarity from his human side bolstered by the raw strength of his saiya-jin half. It had finally come full circle, allowing him to achieve a peculiar balance that served to reveal his growing potential. Whether or not he'd receive an answer just yet, he got himself prepared for the fight ahead by solidly holding his stance, looking for the slightest twinge of movement from his opponent that might have got things started.

After expending nearly all of his energy, Retasu had found his way into the finals. A long, hard fought battle against the Arcosian proved to take more out of him than he would have liked, though. However, he was given some time to rejuvenate himself and rest, as well as being gifted a new, black dogi identical to the one he had previously that was pretty much destroyed. He tightened the obi around his waist before reaching back and securing that black mane into a simple band as he was introduced, glaring over at his opponent, an Earthling by the name of Luo.
After their introductions, Luo would make a comment which caused Retasu to arch a single brow upwards. His tail? Retasu gave it a slight glance as it wavered behind him as if to confirm that it was there. Charcoal colored eyes looked back at Luo. "You've got one, too? I don't see it, so I guess you're hiding it under your clothes or something. My opponent in the first round, that idiot Pars, he also had one, too. It's because we're Saiyajin, a warrior race from the planet Daikondu. I guess you haven't been paying very much attention."
Retasu would lower himself down into a stance of his own, keeping his muscles clenched to strike or defend at a moments notice. "So, if it looks anything like ours, and you Earthlings don't generally sprout brown tails, it means that you're also one of us, or at least partly." Retasu gave a light shrug while in his stance, not sure of how to continue on with the conversation. "But, we'll see how you fight before we determine anything. If you are a Saiyajin like me you'll at least put up a decent fight, yea?" He couldn't help but smirk, feeling something in the air as Luo focused on his energy, but not quite feeling all of it.
However, Retasu would do something similar. He'd call on his power as a Saiyajin and let it explode out of his body, in a furious blue fire that engulfed his entire form almost instantly, and seemingly effortlessly. "Here goes nothing."

With the gong sounding and the fighters ready, Retasu wasted no time in launching himself forward to see what Luo, this supposed Earthling with a tail like his, was capable of. Flexed muscles loosened up quickly as even more energy poured out from his body in an effort to take a gliding flight forward. He had recovered enough after his fight with Tundra, but it certainly did leave a lasting effect on him that only a good meal and good rest would fix, not the slight break that he had taken just before this match had started. It didn't take long for the King in the North to close the gap between them. He wasn't going to allow Luo to stew on what he had told him for very long. "Don't get distracted on me!" Retasu shouted, confidence overflowing in his words. He had made it this far, and it was no surprise that he would be fighting a Saiyajin, at least allegedly, in the finals. He had expected perhaps Pars to get this far, at least if he hadn't been unfortunate enough to face him previously, which he was.
A right fist reared back, before plunging forward with a stinging strike aimed to slam into Luo's left cheek with incredible force. It was a similar punch in comparison to what Tundra had been knocked out by, but he didn't expect his newest opponent to succumb so early in the match. Should the strike hit flush or not, he'd raise a stiff knee aimed into Luo's gut, only to follow up with a stiff left hook to the jaw as a quick combination strike to get things rolling!

Luo received his answers quicker than he thought he would have. That had to be right; he was just different. He'd never met anyone else besides Retasu with a tail like his own. While he was surprised, hearing it felt more like a confirmation. Finally he had something to call himself, but it just raised even more questions. He would have to make a trip back to see his elders again, it seemed. Now that he at least had a little information, maybe they knew more about the strange circumstances of his birth. If these ''Saiyajin'' were from an entirely different planet, then why exactly was Luo on Earth-2? He didn't have time to worry about that, though. For now, he would make a quick response to Retasu stating the fact like it should have been obvious. ''I've always been here, on this planet. I've never even heard of a ''Daikondu'' 'til today.'' His opponent then seemed interested in examining his fighting skills, and it was time for the bout to really begin. Retasu launched at him like a bullet, soaring in with an opening strike at Luo's face. The blow landed cleanly, rocking his stance onto his back leg and giving him a clearer view of that knee darting in. Starting to find his opponent's pace, he would coil his arms down in a block to intercept the attack; as badly as it stung his arms to do so, it was better than getting the wind knocked out of him. When the final punch of the combination soared in, the half-breed decided to get creative. Launching a punch of his own to try and make contact simultaneously with Retasu's cheek, he would soak the strike he received, thanking an old country bumpkin boxer of an opponent named Wayne for toughening his jaw in their fight in the past. Should he have made contact one way or another, he would suddenly shift forward and swing again to bury his fist into his opponent's gut to crumple his posture, ending his retaliation by throwing a turning kick aimed at the jaw!

He watched as this supposed Saiyajin had taken his attacks head on, for the most part, deflecting what he could. He was resilient, that was for sure, as Retasu had put as much force as he could behind his blows. A grunt escaped him, but as his own fist buried itself into Luo's cheek, he let out a slight gasp of surprise as Luo's buried itself into his own, the fighters standing there in position where they both punched each other in the face. A slightly comical, albeit "familiar", position as far as the Universe was concerned. It didn't last long, however, as Luo's other fist buried itself into Retasu's stomach, doubling the King over. Retasu's arms came up to block what he could of the aimed kick, using the momentum from it to knock himself away and create some space.
A thumb came up to wipe some blood from his lip, a cut that Tundra had given him in their previous battle that had opened up after some time to heal briefly. He'd let it smear on the pants of his black dogi with a smirk. "Well, regardless of if you've heard of it or not, it's real and it exists. And if you have a tail like mine at least some part of you is from there. I'd guess you're about my age, just from the looks of you. Not many of our kind have been born these days, there aren't many around younger than me." It was true, since the civil war began to heat up within the last few decades it was rare for any of the Saiyajin to procreate, save for those who were linked to the royal line or wanted to challenge it. Most time was spent training, males and females, for the upcoming war to end all wars. "Sorry, I don't really have much else to say about it. Luo isn't really a Saiyajin name, though, I will say."
He had talked enough at that point, using the time to regain some precious stamina. "Maybe after I win this thing we can have a conversation about it." With that same confidence as usual, the Saiyajin King burst forth, gliding on his feet and hunching down low at the last minute to attempt to slam an elbow into Luo's own gut, repaying him for the loss of oxygen from his own gut shot. Retasu would follow up with with a palm strike under the chin in an uppercut like fashion to try and jar the man, standing him toppling backwards if he could.

His opponent seemed to be surprised at the choice of simultaneous offense over defense. Good. If Luo was going to take the upper hand in this bout, he was going to have to keep this guy on his toes. The strike to the gut landed cleanly, but his kick was soaked and deflected. This guy's reflexes were no joke, especially being able to do something like that while winded and with his posture compromised! As Retasu continued explaining possibilities, he found himself wondering what it all could mean. What was being hidden from him by his elders back at the temple? He was just now starting to remember finer details; sudden halts called to training when he got riled up, being forbidden to step outside on nights that hosted a full moon. Something was clearly going on that he didn't know about. Apparently Luo wasn't a Saiyajin name, either. So what did that leave him with? If he'd been adopted or something similar, he couldn't have always had this name. He shook off his thoughts for now upon hearing Retasu's ending statement. ''Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the info; I got a feelin' that i'm gonna get some answers outta what I already have.''His opponent would burst forward like a bullet, braking into a sudden slide to close the distance and momentarily slipping past Luo's guard. An elbow lashed out and caught him in the cut, causing him to keel over and a spray of spittle to wet the air as he stumbled back two paces. Going against his better judgment to cover the area and keep it safe for the next few seconds, he instead opted to watch for what was coming next. A palm-uppercut soared in aimed for the bottom of his chin, and he knew he had to do something fast. Crossing his hands at the wrists, he'd raise them just above his head before bringing them down and crashing them into the offending arm, soaking up the force and leaving a bruise on his outside wrist. While his hands were still positioned near Retasu, he'd step forward a small ways and lash both fists out in a double-punch aimed right for his face! Looking to follow up, he'd use one of his hands to attempt to lash Retasu against a striking knee by the back of his head!

Luo was able to stand up to him, that was for sure. While his elbow was able to hit and expel that oxygen from Luo's body, Retasu's palm strike was deflected expertly, with little damage being done to Luo in the process. It forced Retasu's arm to be shot downwards, instead of up, knocking him slightly off balance. It was then that his eyes went wide as not one, but both fists came crashed into Retasu's skull suddenly sending the Daikondu born Saiyajin reeling backwards with a grunt. The hand that came outwards to bring him down to a knee strike was deflected as best as possible, pulled backwards towards that knee, Retasu would shoot both hands out and use Luo's own knee as a post to back flip off of, vaulting up and over him only to land behind him several feet away. "You have an interesting fighting style. I must admit, I've never been punch in the face quite like that before."
He didn't want to give Luo much time to turn around, his tenacity in this fight would be one of the main determining factors as to if Retasu could win. Their power seemed to be about equal, as far as Retasu could tell, not to mention Luo didn't seem much like an amateur. It was a funny thing, even Pars and Tundra were fierce opponents with great fighting prowess. Just what else did this Universe have to offer? With a burst of energy, the Northern King pushed forward, moving to wrap both arms around Luo from behind, locking his arms down at his side if possible. "There's one way to see if you're a Saiyajin. If you're not, this is going to probably get me disqualified, but it's not like you'll be able to relish in the win, anyway."
Pulling backwards, with Luo in his clutches, Retasu would bend over backwards and attempt to slam Luo's head and neck directly into the tiled floor of the arena with a suplex of sorts, releasing completely once he had send the other alleged Saiyajin crashing down onto it. Perhaps he took a page out of that one Durian's book with that move.

Luo's parry-and-counter twin punches seemed to have a good effect, but his opponent was able to regain his senses and instincts before he could finish off the assault by using Luo's knee to escape. Landing behind him, he heard him speak briefly. ''Same to you. There's somethin' to be said about efficiency, after all. Me? I was raised in a temple, 'round a whole bunch of elders that practiced different martial arts for meditation. If that's a first timer for you, i'd be glad to show ya a second time if ya hold still.'' The statement of offering to punch his opponent again made him smirk. He often didn't pop off wisecracks unless he was enjoying a fight.. His elders had made sure to provide him plenty of training to keep his half-saiyajin blood in check. There were very few of their styles he had a hard time catching on to, but in the end he'd made himself a style all his own by taking bits and pieces from each that he'd learned. The verbal exchange was over just like that, without much time for Luo to turn around. His opponent had dashed forward and caught him in his clutches. He found his arms locked down at his side in the grapple hold, with Retasu noting that if he could stand back up from this he was definitely some kind of Saiyajin. So cracking hard tile with someone's head was a good way to test, huh? Fancy that. With his arms locked at his sides, there was precious little he could do to stop it anyway. He was slammed head-first into the tile, splintering off chunks from the piece of stage beneath the pair. For a moment he was still, his ears ringing and suffering from a splitting headache. His blood began to run hot again, almost as if his body was taking personal insult in spades along with the injury. He tempered himself briefly, finding his sense of mind. He had to react fast, and he could feel a small wet spot near the lump on his head. Placing his hands down and springing backward, he would land on his feet after a short stumble to regain his sense of balance. Slyly avoiding eye contact with the referee, he would slide his bandanna a bit further up his head and re-tie it, using the pressure to stop the swelling and bleeding. Swiping a thumb across his nose with a grin as he felt ready to get back at it, he would dart forward to close combat range and suddenly sway left to right and then right to left, much like a boxer. Feinting a punch from the left, he would instead sway right again and turn on his heel for a powerful spinning kick aimed at Retasu's ribs. Drawing his leg back briefly, he would stomp down and step forward, turning to the side and using the other one to let loose a machine-gun flurry of follow-up kicks. To finish off his renewed offensive, he would stomp down again and whirl his upper body into a fast and heavy overhead punch!

The modified suplex of sorts had done some lasting damage to the arena, creating a mini crater where Luo's bandana clad head spiked down against it. In fact, it was likely in worse shape than Luo, who Retasu left to his own devices once he hit his move, releasing his arms from around Luo's body and rolling away himself to create some distance between them. Coming to a stand, he'd watch as the young warrior got to his feet, a bit woozy but definitely still conscious and living. The sight caused Retasu to smirk some, involuntary in nature as he spoke to himself within his mind, "Heh. I guess he really could be a Saiyajin taking a hit to the head like that."
In a flash, the Earth-2 housed warrior went back on the offensive, not giving the Saiyajin King much time to relish on anything any longer. A faked punch attempt would make way for a kick, slamming against Retasu's ribs and chest without mercy and causing him to double over some in sudden pain. An arm swung downwards to grasp his own wounds, flinching as another set of lightning fast kicks would fly, spiking Retasu all along his body at speeds no normal being could possibly hope to see. He used the one arm that was not covering his ribs to attempt to keep those keeps at bay, but it was a weak attempt. "Tch!" A frustrated expulsion of air left from between clenched teeth, watching as a final, overhead strike was coming in right at his skull, using both arms now to create an "X" in the direction of the oncoming strike. A numbing blow connected with his exposed forearms, sending Retasu skidding back on his heels from the force, his arms feeling the effects of such a powerful strike, though it was better than his skull being split open. Slowly his arms lowered, fingers curling and uncurling to get the blood flowing through his arms again. "Nice one, almost had me there for sure."
His own pure, Saiyajin blood began to boil as well, scorching hot like magma flowing from a volcano. Retasu was getting as fired up as Luo with this match, finally able to run at his full power now without needing to hold back. After all, it didn't look like Luo was especially fragile. It was time to go all out. "I think that's enough of a warm up. Time to go full tilt. Haaaaaa!!" With a mighty war cry, Retasu would call upon his own energy to flare up around him like a giant, blue fire as so much of his own ki began to course through his veins, it couldn't be helped. He'd lower his stance some, before firing off his body like a bullet towards Luo at blinding speed.
He was untraceable, at least by the naked eye, as he let his power flow and manipulate his speed levels. However, he would "materialize" from thin air, as it seemed, in order to send attempted strikes all around Luo's body. His body was re-appear, send a furious punch in Luo's direction, before "vanishing" once again in a flurry of blurred lines. If one could not detect ki well enough, it would be nearly impossible to keep track of him. He was hoping to keep Luo off guard for the FINAL blow.
For the coup de grace, Retasu could be seen leaping up in front of Luo with both hands clasped tightly together in a giant "hammer." With a roar, the Northern King would attempt to slam that axe handle smash directly down onto the top of Luo's head, aiming for the sensitive skull once more.

For a bit there, his opponent had seemed adequately impressed by his own powerful grapple. If he were forced to admit it, Luo would have said the same. He could accurately say that most people would have buckled under an offensive pressure like that, but all his life this particular ''human'' had been different; capable of withstanding trials of martial arts that would have broken the stamina of most others, and still left wanting more. He had been injured and he couldn't deny that, but it was still safe to say he was left in a place that most others of his kind wish they could have been after receiving a blow like that last one. He'd wasted no time in re-mounting his offensive, and his perceptions granted him notice of it taking great effect. His initial kick landed ferociously, causing Retasu to double over in pain. Capitalizing on the opening his offense had created, he took note of his opponent attempting to mount a defensive posture against his flurry of kicks that seemed to serve him no good. He littered Retasu's body with his strikes, confident that his finishing his blow would connect. He found himself surprised that his opponent regained his composure enough to gain a defense against the last strike of the combination, forming his arms into a crossing guard that sent him skidding backward. A short, punctual evaluation followed, with Retasu admitting he was close to being in trouble. ''Just give me a little bit, now. I'll have ya just yet.''Luo's sensory abilities suddenly gave a slight amount of vision to what was going on. He could faintly see a wash of blue around his opposing fighter before he closed in like a bullet, and he quickly raised his arms and tightened his body to defend. Yet it would seem that every strike he had prepared himself to defend was coming from somewhere else entirely, leading to Retasu battering his body from multiple directions that he couldn't seem to track. His eyes desperately darted from one place to another in hopes of keeping track, but he just couldn't seem to keep up. After the first couple of volleys, it began to hit him in a sudden surge of realization. As the flurries continued, Luo was beginning to adapt. High-speed fighting was his particular place of forte when it came to combat, but this still wasn't quite enough. Realizing his eyes could only go so far, he would take a desperate measure and close them, allowing his sixth sense of ki reading to take over. He slowly began to match the pace, the blows he couldn't dodge being lessened against an increasingly potent guard. When the final hammer blow soared as he felt a surging energy, his legs would carry him in a sideways shift, turning as his eyes opened to watch his opponent's blow meet air. ''I can't match him with my eyes. But if I can use my senses in a situation like this, I can see exactly where he is!''Counter-attacking with a thrusting kick to the ribs, he would advance quickly to close the distance if he managed to knock him off balance. Throwing an uppercut aimed at the chin after a quick re-position of high speed movement, if it managed to connect he would vanish again to relocate behind Retasu, clenching his arms around his waist. He would then burst off into upward flight, then sharply tip back and soar toward the stage, releasing him just before impact to slam into the tile! ''Yer fast, but yer up against someone even faster! Glad yer done with the warm-ups, i'm fightin' fer real!''

His high speed attack would be thwarted with a well placed kick to the ribs, forcing Retasu to expel some serious air out of his lungs in a hurry and double over. He'd intercept the uppercut as best as possible, using a forearm to tank the impact but still getting knocked backwards from the force of the blow. Before he could fully adjust, Luo was behind him in a matter of seconds, if not faster, wrapping arms around his waist tightly. Retasu would grunt, attempting to pry those fingers loose. "Trying to use what I did to you against me, are you? Perhaps you're not as smar--?!" However, instead of the suplex he was expecting, Retasu was taken for an air ride, before being send crashing down onto the arena floor like a missile, exploding against the tiles on impact and creating quite the crater.
With the smoke subsiding, Retasu could be seen standing. His body was showing a bit more wear now, wiping some blood from his mouth with a smirk, using his bare arm to do so. "Heh, full of surprises. Well, maybe I should throw out some of my own, too, then?"
Without much of a warning, Retasu took to the sky himself, holding up both of his arms slightly, elbows bent, with fingers gripping forming orbs of ki. "I didn't want to have to resort to using my ki this way, but you leave my no choice. Hopefully you're as durable as you've been proving to be!" After his verbal warning, Retasu began to fire off those orbs of ki in rapid succession, each one aimed down at the arena and targeting Luo. They would detonate on impact, several of them firing off faster now much to the awe of the crowd! The coupe de grace would follow, holding up both hands above his head, pooling all his energy into one final, larger orb of ki before firing it down into the chaos he had created, looking to finally be done with Luo after this onslaught.
Regardless of the full outcome, once Retasu was done he had lowered down slowly onto the arena floor once more, booted feet tapping against it and waiting for what would be revealed once the smoke cleared.

Luo found himself surprised when his opponent had decided to end the close-range engagement and instead attack from a safe distance. Was his pressure working better than he first thought it was? For a moment, he wasn't entirely sure what Retasu was up to. It wasn't until his hands began to glow with the trademark crackling of summoned energy that he finally realized what was going on. Having been caught flat-footed, the first of the volley found a great effect against him as it battered against his body he barely managed to toss up his arms to guard. The burns and stings kept him perfectly held in place, and he knew he had to change his situation fast before he got buried. Letting out a loud shout as he released his own energy, the kiai managed to scatter the stream of blasts for a brief moment of opportunity. Darting from his position and using his speed to flash across the stage in a zig-zag pattern, he'd managed to salvage his situation well; most of the attacks were now missing with the exception of a few stray shots. Still, it was nothing compared to how it had started. The finishing blow came in a much larger energy construct, a potent orb hurled down toward the stage. With the rapid blasts finally off of his back and giving him a tough time when it came to movement, he was free to watch it sail down at him. He knew if it hit the stage and exploded, collateral damage was definitely possible; which is why he decided not to dodge it. Loosing an orb of his own to collide with it, Retasu's energy would win out but not without being weakened first. With its velocity slowed, Luo would cross his arms before extending them out right before impact, pushing against the construct as his hands quickly began to go numb. Flinging it into the sky, he watched it detonate and create a large screen of smoke. He figured Retasu would expect him to attack from there. Instead, he would dart across the ground beneath the screen, hopefully using it as a worthy distraction to get beneath the other fighter. Raising his hands up high, an arc of white energy would dance between them before a large blast of energy rocketed forth, traveling upward to attempt to slam into Retasu from below!

Perhaps fatigue was setting in, as he could feel his body giving way and those blasts not hitting their mark like they should. He watched Luo fight back, weakening his final blast with one of his own, lessening the blow on his body as the smoke filled the section of the arena where Retasu had fired his barrage. From within the thick plume, the Earth raised Saiyajin had bolted outwards, sneaking under Retasu as the Northern King let out a "Tch!" in dismay. Damn him, he was a clever one.
Before he could react, his eyes went wide to see an attack being charged up at point blank range, before it was fired like a rocket into him, forcing Retasu up, up and away in a painful manner as it carried him into the sky within seconds. Everyone looked upwards, even Mr. Announcer did, adjusting his fancy sunglasses, to see exactly what was going on. Had Retasu gotten launched into the sky and out of the arena?
Meanwhile, in the air, Retasu was hugging that blast in pain as it began to burn with fury, unable to roll off the it as it detonated in a bright explosion. An atom bomb in the sky was what it looked like, with enough force to likely level the entire city should it have gone unchecked. It knocked Retasu farther up into the air, though, straight up and not outwards. Had it did, the Royal would have likely landed out of bounds eventually. Instead, he would regain consciousness on the eventual decent downwards, grunting in pain as the upper half of his (new) dogi was blown away to bits, scars and burns covered his body and his neatly, tied back hair was a disheveled mess. Retasu would stop his decline, using what bits of ki he had left to do so with a grimace. "Lucky bastard..." He was still very far up in the sky, he most likely looked like an ant in the sky.
"Perhaps it's time I ended this." Struggling, Retasu's entire body would clench tightly, muscles firming up as that aura blazed around him once more like a bright, blue fire. Both arms were held out his side, forming two identical spheres of ki within them. "Hopefully you dodge this if you can! Don't think your tricks will work this time!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" With a might roar, he'd shove both arms forward, slamming them together at the wrist to form one giant sphere from the two. "HAKAI! HOU!" At his war cry, a massive pillar of energy was fired off, the target was Luo right onto the arena floor.
