"HAHAHA! AIN'T ALL HIGH AND MIGHTY NOW, ARE YOU?!" Thinking his attack had done something more than just blind Luo temporarily with salt water, the Catfish Pirate laughed, proud of himself. Clutching both blades again, he'd go for another swing before his single eye went wide. "WHA-WHAT THE HELL?!" Some sort of hot light was heading his way. Was it... fire?! Before he could process anything, those energy blasts slammed into his body, sending him skidding backwards along the water and slowly sinking below, a trail of bubbles following him.
Well, maybe his wasn't so tough after all?
That was yet to be seen, but the Pirate would once again leap out of the water behind Luo, screeching at the top of his lungs. "NO THROWING FIREBALLS, YOU FREAK!" Both swords were sheathed now, and the Catfish would appear to hold several shells within his hands, firing them off towards Luo as if they were Shurikans!

Of course he meant to do that! What a dirty fightin' little scoundrel! Having vigorously scrubbed at his eyes enough to leave only a few little annoying specks of the burning substance for now, his hazy vision began to clear. He could recall the sounds of impact from his ki blasts littering the area, and when his eyes finally cleared he couldn't see his opponent anymore. Did he overdo it? It wasn't until moments later that he would spot the bubbles dissipating in front of him; just like before, when he was still clung onto the raft that held his supplies. Swinging his head about quickly to search for the little sneak, out of the corner of his eye with his turned head he'd spot more of those same bubbles. Twisting sharply as his opponent darted up and out of the water, he spotted some strange objects in his hand. Were those...shells? He could weaponize shells? Was he able to use chi too!? At first he felt concern, overtaken soon after by that oh so peculiar excitement he could never place a finger on. He would grin, even as the pirate launched them his way at a high velocity! Unsure if they carried any energy or not Luo would bring his sheathed, rope-bound sword up in a quick cross across his body, deflecting one away and then cross back to slap away another. Slipping one past his head, he'd pop his head beneath the water quickly to duck one more, then pop back up and snatch the last out of the air before testing its weight. Looking between the shell and the pirate probably told his foe what was coming next. His white aura began to snake down his arm before lightly illuminating the shell, and he'd be so kind as to hurl it back at the man-creature with his enhanced half-saiyajin strength! Regardless of the counter-attack's success, Luo would duck beneath the water and zoom in right beneath it. Attempting to land a crushing blow to the fish-man's gut then re-surface behind him, he'd bring that sheathed blade down to bear with a mighty bonk against the top of his head! ''Reckon ya bit off more than ya could chew then, pickin' a fight with a freak like me!''

Luo hit 5 DMG! Pirate guy!

His eyes went wide as the Halfling all but dodged every single throw except one, which was sent flying back towards him with a lot more force and tenacity than he was capable of! It'd slam against his body, causing him to "OOF!" loudly, before the onslaught continued. Further air would get expelled out of him from the blow to the gut, a bump nearly forming instantly from the spot on his head where Luo bonked him. The Catfish Pirate would be floating under the water, half conscious before something began to stir within him!
A menacing energy could be felt, the pirate's eyes going wide and flashing all red. Something was definitely different with him now. With some form of newfound strength, he'd brandish those blades once more and rocket to the surface of the water. Flying out of it, those all red sockets would glare directly at Luo, as the pirate let out a deep growl that didn't seem human at all! With both blades in his hands, the fish's body would began to spin like a tornado, landing back onto the water like a top and heading straight for Luo, aiming to dice him up good!
Something definitely feels different about this once harmless thug! ck3mVm862d30

For a moment, it looked like the fight was already over and settled. Good. The half-breed didn't have the patience to deal with some annoying robber; he had way more important things to do, the biggest one being getting back to his raft and continuing his trip to meet this Turtle Hermit. He couldn't burn all his energy off on some thug. He felt like he was gonna need it to keep pace with the Hermit if he was going to earn a spot on his roster. As soon as he turned his back however his eyes would narrow in light concern and a bit more excitement. A booming splash with an eruption of water blasted out from behind the swordsman, and he would snap his head to look quickly at a now glaring and red-eyed pirate. He wasn't done yet, it looked like. Luo preferred it that way anyhow. By the looks of things he'd certainly struck a nerve as the pirate looked absolutely furious. With no words and a seemingly one-minded focus on results, his foe would brandish that pair of blades in a far more aggressive looking posture than before. What was going on? With little more than a moment's notice the pirate's body lashed out into a typhoon of sharp metal, quickly dashing his way toward the half-saiyajin! He knew he couldn't fly to avoid it, or he risked the old bull being right and him getting blasted out of the sky right back down into the water anyway; however, with his flight in mind he could still try to maneuver quickly in the water. He noted his supply raft was inching away with the kicked up waves toward the Hermit's island. Bracing his sheathed and bound blade once again, he'd make a quick back dash to ready himself for the assault as best he could! Weaving and bobbing his head while lashing the sheathed instrument to deflect what strikes he could, he felt a few slip through as the cold bite of the weaponry began to lash open a few stray stinging cuts against his body. Grunting with pain as his defenses began to fold, he had to do something fast! Bringing up his own weapon to slide the pirate's right blade across the scabbard's surface, he'd make a quick side dash attempting to take his flank and take advantage of his blind one-directional flurry. ''Ya good an' woke up now, eh!? 'Bout time!''With an ecstatic grin, there was that familiar feeling all over again. He was certainly in pain but it somehow made him crave this fight all that much more. His tail twitched around his waist in anticipation; had he known of the other side of his heritage, he would recognize he was feeling trademark Saiyajin excitement for battle. Having shifted his position he would attempt to elbow his foe in the spine, followed by a strong crack against the ribs on the right side with the sheathed weapon. He'd finish off the series of body blows with an iron-handed chop aimed at the left side of the pirate's neck!

Luo hit 7 DMG! Pirate

That flanking hit would break his momentum, though he got a few good shots in before that for sure. Pummeled down, the Pirate, who appeared to be possessed, would once again go skidding backwards with jagged, nasty little teeth bared, a growl forming in the back of his throat. His body would slide up onto a small island, not far off from where he and Luo were battling. Coming to a stand, he'd let out a feral roar, an aura of intense, red energy surrounding him. Something about it feeling incredibly malicious.
The energy would transfer to his swords, to which he'd begin slicing at the air, and with each slice, a crescent moon shaped blast of energy would go ripping through the sky, splitting the top of the water as it did, heading straight for Luo's body in the water.

Glad to have escaped that dangerous situation, Luo was now much more comfortable with his position. He'd managed to land a couple of good clean blows against the pirate and in addition was able to drive him out of the water and onto the shore. While the mercenary would have loved to take flight and assault his opponent from above, just as he contemplated doing so he remembered the old bull's warning. If he took the sky, he'd probably be shot out of it in short notice. Damn! He righted his thoughts and focused on his foe who was now letting loose a ferocious roar, and Luo noticed something awfully peculiar. The pirate had called him a ''freak'' for throwing ''fireballs'' at him. So then what the hell was this all of the sudden!? Either by dumb luck or excellent planning, the pirate had Luo in a spot where his movement was hindered. Luo knew he had to get out of the water fast or he was going to hurt for it. Narrowing his eyes in frustration, the first of the blasts of energy ripped through the water toward him and missed him by inches as he dashed forward and beneath the water; it was close enough for him to feel the warmth of the energy along his back and he watched as the waters around him bubbled lightly at the contact. For the next volley, he wasn't so lucky. Surfacing just in time to have another blast lash against his body and leave a faint, stinging cut as it buzzed past him, he would clutch his shoulder before darting forward again. For each one he managed to get lucky and avoid, another would find its mark. He was so close to shore! He just had to endure, he had to! He would finally reach the shoreline with his sheathed blade gripped in his left hand, and once again just in time to receive some more pain. The blast collided with his sword as he attempted to use it to block, but it only served to make his wrists crack and sting before it broke through his guard and forced him back a couple of steps. Growling in anger and frustration, his form would soon vanish with high-speed movement with a light ''swish'' noise. He would re-appear at his adversary's front, attempting to jab the pirate in the stomach with the sheathed weapon then bring it up to his chin in a vertical down-to-up chop. If he managed to knock his gaze skyward, he would use his back leg to spring forward into a powerful thrust kick!

His attacks had landed, though not dead on, but before he knew it the Hybrid was on the offensive again. Luo's form would blur then reappear in front of him, the pirate would gurgle as his gut was smashed into by the butt of that sword before the combo ensued. His head snapped back from that kick, sending the Pirate landing on his tush on the sand with a groan. Perhaps this little island that they ended up one would suffice for now. Slowly, the being would get up, hatred in his eyes, seemingly taken over by it.
Brandishing those swords once again, he'd go back on the offensive. What was once a clumsy, lackluster form looked like a beautiful dance with blades, a work of art to say the least. Expertly, the Pirate would move on his feet, turning and twisting himself all while letting those swords fly, attempting to make contact with Luo's and perhaps break through, if possible, his only retaliation would really be slamming the butt of his own blade into Luo's face.
How do you like them apples? Even possessed souls could only take so much!

It almost seemed like this pirate was adapting the more the fight dragged out! His fighting style which was goofy and laden with mistakes at first had turned to something else entirely. After that potent combination the hybrid had delivered, this guy seemed an awful kind of sore. Luo could almost feel how pissed this guy was. Anger and a pair of blades were a combination he usually tried to stray away from, but now he was thankful for all that hands-on weapon training at the temple where he grew up. His body still felt the sting from the received attacks in numerous places, and he tried his best to shake it off. He watched the pirate rise again and ready those matching swords, causing Luo to brace for another offensive and hold his ground. He kept that sheathed sword at the ready to defend himself. It looked as if this guy was angry enough to chop him to pieces if given the chance, reminding the hybrid this fight needed to end sooner rather than later. The pirate's form changed once again to something with a lot more expertise. His opponent whirled on his feet, closing the distance and turning into a whirling dervish of steel. Bobbing his head back to dodge the first of the slashes just narrowly and feeling the wind from the swing against his nose, he would quickly spin his own blade up and to each side as he matched the pirate's footwork while holding his defenses. Stopping each blow with that weapon of his and finally finding the timing to nail an incoming swing to deflect it off to the side, he would turn sideways and watch the butt of the other sword sling past his face. He'd attempt to seize the opening with a quick right hook followed by a quick knee, where after he would plant the assaulting leg down firmly and attempt to club good and hard into the pit of the pirate's shoulder with an overhead blow from the rope-bound sword.

The pirate's attack seemed to once again be evaded by Luo's expert fighting style. Even under the current situation, he couldn't keep up. Frustration built up within his soul as that right hook and knee combo connected, sending the pirate teetering backwards once more. A low growl escaped him, reacting quick enough to that incoming shoulder shot and bypassing it, letting Luo hit nothing but air. If Luo could feel it, the pirate's presence seemed to get more sinister by the second. There was definitely something very different and very off about the man now. His mouth moved and out came inaudible sounds, but it sounded like he was actually talking. But what was he saying? Not to mention both eye sockets showed two pools of glowing crimson within them. He'd aim to continue his onslaught after avoiding the finale of Luo's combo, regaining his composure somewhat. Slamming both blades into the sand, he'd use them as leverage and lift himself up off the ground. He'd attempt to shove both booted feet directly into Luo's face afterwards. zvB1gPEb2d30

His fist met flesh as well as his knee, and Luo couldn't be more satisfied at the feeling. Unbeknownst to him, the hot, fiery feeling coursing through his body was his Saiya-jin half's blood pumping at full excitement. He could feel the impacts more finely than he could remember in years, and the disappointment he felt when this slippery pirate evaded his last blow at the shoulder stung a little bit more than it should have. On instinct, his more human upbringing served to briefly curb these emotions. He became a bit more calm and collected, his battle spirit tempering against the human side of his soul. Investigating his foe with another hard look, his appearance had changed once again; streaks of crimson now lined his face just beneath his eyes, trailing a fair distance. It seemed the man-creature would attempt to speak, but only jumbled nonsense escaped his mouth. Luo would have to finish this soon before the situation got any more dangerous! Watching the pirate plant his blades into the ground, the half-breed was fully expecting another frontal attack using the paired weapons. He guessed wrong. As he raised his own weapon to defend himself, the pirate's boots flashed right over his guard and his face met the heel of both boots. Teetering him backward, he'd stumble a couple of steps before taking two short hops backward with the momentum to right himself. He'd suck in a huge breath of air before calmly letting it flow back out, breathing with a strange calm serenity that was very much unlike the typical hot-headed, impulsive young man that he was. ''Hoooohhhh....''Closing his eyes briefly, his white aura began to gather around him like a light cloak. He began to focus and draw his ki, internally focusing it to his core where he then began to circulate it throughout his body. The fibers of his muscles awakened with delight at the reinforcement, and he took on a low hunkered pose as he cradled that sheathed sword near his right hip, the flat parallel to the earth with his left hand resting palm down at the handle. The sands of the island gently began to stir. He was gonna finish this thing with a bang! ''S'much as I hate takin' th' Elder's advice in a fight, maybe it's time ta try somethin' new!''
