Nezu Mi just stared at Dian after his answer. Overthinking much? Well, it's not like he gave a wrong answer, in the end, though the Turtle Hermit would have preferred him to rescue the more attractive woman of the two, and then would have sent him off to find someone that fit that description. Alas, he couldn't give the boy a hard time, though, slowly lowering the photos down before placing them onto the table. The magic turtle could be her chuckling to himself near Nezu Mi's feet. "O-Oh, I see. Quite the imagination on you, I must say. Ahem." A slight cough, as if to clear his throat, before continuing. "But I guess your heart is in the right place. You'd do your best to limit the amount of casualties and that's what matters in the end. Though, I will be honest, I am tasked with running a Dojo, not a hero school! But it was a necessary question to ask since, well, part of you is pure darkness."
Nezu Mi adjusted his sunglasses a bit before continuing, sounding a bit more serious and solemn now. "I do have to apologize for continuously bringing up that part of you, young man. The truth is there is a very, very dark energy that has enveloped our very own Earth-2 lately. Something has been causing the beasts to go mad, and even some humans to do the same. It is most troubling. In truth, the energy feels a lot like yours, well, part of yours. It's demonic in origin and nature. My job isn't only to train anyone willing to learn in order to protect the planet, but also to protect the planet myself. I guess I had to make sure you weren't going to kill me in the end."
He let out a sigh, reaching out with the chop sticks back in hand, taking another piece of sashimi and eating it quickly. "I think with your innate power and your ability to tap into it, I can make you a formidable warrior for sure. BUT.. I must have your word that you will maintain the honor and dignity it means to be a student of the Turtle School, and also, one more thing..." As if out of no where another piece of paper was shown to Dian, a small poster of sorts, sliding it onto the table towards him. "The King of Earth-2 is holding the very first Tenkaichi Budokai, and in true King Tsuno fashion is going over the top with it. He's already opened all interplanetary borders, extending an invitation to the entire Universe should they wish to join. Join the tournament, show me what you can do as a member of this school. I will help you polish your skills as a fighter, and reward you with teaching you how to go beyond your own powers after it is done."
Nezu Mi nodded confidently. "But I think for now, until the tournament starts, we must concentrate on having you control your ki, Demonic or otherwise. If you are going to show me anything at all, until you have a handle on your own energy, I can't teach you anything else. Consider this your beginner's course before moving up to your advanced one!"

Pure darkness. . . such an assessment did not sit well with Dian Xin, though he supposed it was not his place to question such a judgement, especially from someone much more worldly than himself. The halfblood, despite his heritage, knew little of the people of the Demon Realm, save for the fact that they were, well, evil, as the Kamesennin had said. Still. . . didn't his human blood count for something? Or maybe there really was a well of darkness bubbling beneath the surface in the pit of his soul, and Dian Xin lacked the wise insights a master such as the Kamesennin had into matters of the spirit. As the Kamesennin explained, energy that felt like the demonic ki running through his body could be felt around the planet and it was linked to beats and men alike losing their minds and hearts. It was. . . troubling to Dian Xin, for a few reasons. First, it was downright scary to think that the planet was in danger. Second, it was even scarier to think that energy similar to his was conflated with such darkness! "I. . . I understand, sir," he muttered, though it was a tough pill to swallow. "I guess I can see where you're coming from. Demonic energy dropping out of nowhere near your house. Scary shit, heh."He straightened up. "Though believe me! I don't want to kill you, Kamesennin!"Still, the Kamesennin spoke and was willing to train Dian Xin, but on two conditions: one, that he would uphold the honor of the Turtle School and two: he would join the Tenkaichi Budokai as a member of the Turtle School! Dian Xin's purple eyes wildly scanned the piece of paper that was suddenly thrust in front of him and his heart skipped a beat. The Tenkaichi Budokai. . . a tournament to determine the strongest under the heavens and the entire universe was invited? Quite the stage. . . and quite the lofty goal! The demon-blood was getting excited just thinking about it, but no: he needed to control his excitement for now. "I swear, Kamesennin," he said solemnly, "I will uphold the tenets of your school, despite whatever darkness lingers inside of me."And then he cracked a wide grin. "And I'll give this Tenkaichi Budokai my best shot, too," he said, "You know, show the whole universe what we're made of."Still, that would come later! For now, it seemed as if Nezu Mi had lessons to pass on! Dian Xin's ki flared to life, demonic energy suddenly springing up like popcorn. "Alright!" he exclaimed, "What's the first step towards cultivating my power?"

The young man was definitely lively, but Nezu Mi was pleased to hear him agree to his terms. He nodded his head, during the entire speech from Dian he had managed to finish his beer... and the food! Did Dian even get a chance to eat any? The Turtle Hermit gave his arms a mighty stretch, seemingly ignoring that energy flaring up around Dian with excitement. He'd yawn, scratching the back of his head some. "Huh? You want to start NOW? But... ugh, what a day." It was as if he had flown all the way here himself, but the old mouse just gave a shrug after.
"Well, I guess we can't start until you look the part, then." The Kamesennin would hop off the wooden bench, putting his way slowly into the house for a few minutes. After several moments of leaving him to his lonesome, he'd emerge again with a dogi tucked under his arm. Making his way back to Dian, he tossed the articles of clothing at the boy. It differed in color than the traditional orange colored dogi from the primary Kame School back on Earth. This one was red in color with a blue obi. It was still a traditional style, but not as plain looking as the other. "Suppose you'll need that. Make sure you wear it for the tournament, so everyone knows who you are representing. Use it as motivation to not lose and make me look bad, either!" That last part was spat out, coughing quickly after and covering his mouth with a tiny fist. Afterwards, he'd wave his hand off at Dian, as if dismissing him.
"It's been a long day for me, but it's just getting started for you. If you're going to be my student and improve yourself you're going to have to prove you have that energy under control at all times." The Turtle Hermit waltzed his way over to a hammock strung up between two tropical looking trees. "Mehhhh! I'm going to have myself a bit of a cat nap.." Odd way to word it, as he climbed up into the makeshift bed. "Why don't you sit there and focus on your ki for the next few hours. Once my sleeping body has felt some improvement in your energy control we'll talk first steps."
And that was that. He didn't miss a beat and as soon as his head laid back the old Kamesennin was out like a light.
Dian Xin Alrighty, I think this is a good spot for us to stop. If you want to do your exit post, go for it. Throw it up for grading and I'll make everything official and we'll work on Part 1 of training in a new thread. The dogi, for reference.

Dian Xin nodded. Of course he want to start right now! Time was wasting! If he was going to be tournament ready, he had to get cracking right here and now! The entire universe was invited. . . that was some pretty stiff competition right there. The homegrown Earth II boy knew plenty well that the aliens out there were made of some tough stuff; even if his hybridized, demonic genetics afforded him some advantage over Earthlings, Dian Xin still had to put in work if he was going to beat out the rest of the universe. Aliens were some tough shit- or at least so he had heard! Perhaps anticlimactically, NeZu Mi once again waddled off to his home, leaving the demon blooded boy alone once again, with only the soft, lapping noise of the waves for company. He tapped his foot in the sand anxiously, though he did not have to wait long: the mouse soon returned, and he came bearing gifts! Clothing came at him, tossed through the air by his new master: the boy snatched it eagerly and held it gingerly before his face, looking at it with excitement, nodding enthusiastically to the man. "Of course, Kamesennin!" he said happily, "I'll wear it with pride!"And besides, the new threads were kind of nice. Even though Dian Xin was partial to his road clothes, he had to admit that there was something awfully snazzy about his new gi. Maybe it was the red color; Dian Xin had always considered red to be his color. Snapping back to reality, Dian Xin nodded once gain as the Turtle Hermit imparted more instructions: while it was time for him to clock out for the day, Dian Xin ought to focus on his energy. Meditation, he realized. Though the Kamesennin could not see it, Dian Xin nodded in appreciation of the guidance and the wisdom. Once the Kamesennin had settled into sleep, the hybrid slid out of his travel clothes and donned his new gi, proudly representing the Turtle School. The new fabric was soft to the touch, feeling oddly good compared to the familiar touch of his old clothes. Patting himself down, Dian Xin settled into the sand at the spot the Kamesennin had indicated and began to focus his energy. . . a first step into what would surely be a long journey. Briefly, he thought back on what had led him to this. . . his encounter with Samba aside, this had not been so bad at all! All things considered, this turned out pretty damn good! Dian Xin's eyes went shut as he focused and time began to slip by. . .
And thread exit! Thanks, Retasu, for doing this! Let me know how you want to proceed with this in the future and we can do a follow-up sometime!

Dian Xin, congrats on becoming a Turtle School initiate. You've earned yourself a total of 2,652 SP, bringing your total to 2,669 SP. You've also gained the Kame School dogi, which is a Level 1 Defensive enhancer that can be upgraded at your discretion. It's a long road ahead to becoming a top tier student, though... or so I've heard!
