Tartus , GO!!
Okay, so here we go for the first official battle here on DBU. If you guys have any questions, PM or Skype me as you need to. If you are unsure of something, ask me before you do a rolling post. You'll notice there isn't any Genki Points due to no one having any special attacks, so this is straight up. You can follow along with how much damage is being rolled by using the Hit Chart. Each character's HP is set to 20, so hopefully this doesn't take too long or short. Last man standing wins. I'll proctor the match.

"Begin!" An unknown voice bellowed from behind Tartus. Most likely it was some official for the tournament, but Tartus was already out of his depth, taking his eyes off his opponent's in order to look would be a foolish mistake. The low class Saiyan inhaled deeply, tensing his whole body in preparation for the inevitable incoming attack. Tartus fully expected to be used for a display of power by one of the Elites, knocking him around with ease to try and intimidate their opponent. But the attack didn't come. Maybe they didn't think Tartus was worth their time, maybe they were concentrating on each other instead. Whatever the reason, Tartus found himself with an opportunity, and he intended to take it. Quickly, the low class Saiyan eyed up the two men stood in the arena with him. His target was obvious, he didn't even know who one of the men was. Sure he was some Elite, that much was obvious. But Retasu was the King! If he could land a blow on Royalty, even better actually hurt the man, he would be a legend amongst the low class. Tartus didn't care much for his own reputation, those days had long since passed him. But if he could manage it, any low class who witnessed it would be buying him drinks for years to come. What more could he honestly expect from this situation? Bending his knees slightly, Tartus launched himself into a head on charge towards Retasu. Ignoring Totoma completely, his focus locked onto his target. The haze of alcohol suddenly lifted from his mind, as adrenaline began to pump through Tartus' system. As Tartus closed in on the King he drew back his fists, snapping out a series of furious jabs towards Retasu's face as soon as he was in range. Tartus wasn't bothered if the blows landed, they were intended as little more than a distraction. Suddenly the aging Saiyan crouched down, performing a spinning back kick with the aim to place his standard issue boot deep into Retasu's midriff. He could only hope the blow carried enough force to knock the King far enough backwards to buy Tartus a little breather before the inevitable payback arrived.

A voice came from the stands, calling out for the spar to start and so it did. For some reason, the Low-Class Warrior was the one that decided to start the match; he certainly had guts, too bad Totoma wasn’t one for wasting time and all. He wanted to get straight to the point, and his point was Retasu, and he wasn’t going to allow for anyone to have him. He was his opponent to break, and he wasn’t going to stand for anyone; especially someone like Tartus have a shot at him first.
The mere thought really made the Elite sick, although he tried to hide his expression and look stoic as a statue, he couldn’t help but have his gaze subtly set on Tartus.
“What is this guy even thinking?... I guess he does have something within himself, though. But, he should really learn his place, and he's going to soon enough.” - he thought to himself, folding his arms on his chest.
Not to mention, how he simply flew straight into Retasu’s way, ignoring Totoma almost as if he wasn’t there. It sure made Totoma twitch an eye, although he had to admit that he sure had some guts; especially considering he managed to land a blow on the King, which was kind of amusing. A King… who let a lower class to hit him? That was sure funny, although Totoma wasn’t one to talk; he was born neither an Elite nor a Royalty after all.
“Oi, kisama! (“Hey, you!”), step back and let the warriors with a true Saiyajin’s blood handle this.” - he called him out, rushing forward at him, intending to hit him with an elbow and send him flying away. For his gaze only to shift at Retasu, cracking a grin on his face.

As he had finished warming up, he noticed he'd have a total of two warriors to contend with. One looked to be about his own age, wearing a style of armor similar to his own, yet not entirely the same. Especially the colors. Though he didn't pay it too much mind, nor did he have time to think over it as the second challenger took his attention shortly after. He was older, that was for sure. Even with their kind, the pure bloods anyway, staying in their prime well beyond most humanoids, he could tell this male was getting to the point of actually aging. It was interesting to see for Retasu. Not many Saiyajin had lived to see as many years as he assumed this one had. Was he a fierce warrior with no equal, or just lucky?
Again, he had no time to think, as the eldest of the trio would explode forth. With his eyes bolting wide open, he'd do his best to try and evade those fierce jabs coming his way, his own gloved hands coming up to let those fists impact against them, but it was no use. The blows would numb his hands, allowing one to slip through, as knuckles slammed against his chin. With his head snapping to one side, the kick to his midsection doubled him over with a loud, "OOF!" causing the crowd to gasp in shock. This Low Class Saiyajin... landed not one, but TWO hits on THE KING?! And it wasn't a lucky hit either, as far as Retasu could tell. This one had some skill!
Before Tartus could follow up however, the other one would call out to him, clearly throwing his assumed Elite status in the elder's face. It was funny to Retasu, he didn't recognize the smart mouthed one at all. But, he figured perhaps would be a good chance to retaliate, for the near embarrassing attack. Rolling his neck again, Retasu would plant his feet firmly, and after Totoma had attempted his attack, Retasu would launch forward, doing his best to place a solid, gloved fist deep into the armored gut of Tartus, before offering a swinging kick of his own, spinning on his left leg and letting his right come up to smash his boot directly into the jaw of Tartus.
Should he land the blow, he would simply look over at Totoma and offer a nod.
Though Retasu had no idea of just what Totoma's intentions were, or who he even was.

Tartus couldn't believe his eyes, he had actually managed to hit the King. Only time would tell if he would live to regret that, for now he was overwhelmed that it had happened at all. Tartus didn't have long to bask in the glory of his attack however, as the third combatant shouted his way. The unknown Elite was typically arrogant, believing that Tartus didn't even belong in the ring with someone oh his status. But when he uttered the words "True Saiyajin", Tartus felt his blood boil. His anger was quick to rise when he was under the influence of a drink or two, but this would anger any Saiyan. The aging Saiyan turned to face the Elite, ready to retaliate in kind. However before he could open his mouth, Totoma's figure was bearing down on him. Acting on instinct, Tartus raised his arms to block the incoming elbow. Even with his arms taking the full brunt of the attack, it still carried enough force to send the low class Saiyan skidding backwards across the arena floor. The aging Saiyan let out a roar of defiance, Totoma would pay for his arrogance. That was until Tartus suddenly felt the air being knocked out of his lungs. In his rage, he hadn't even seen the King approach, leaving his midsection completely unguarded. Tartus gasped for air, helplessly watching as Retasu's boot came round to slam into his jaw. Tartus stumbled backwards from the blow, barely able to maintain his balance, although the alcohol in his system probably didn't help with that. Wiping a stained glove across his mouth, Tartus checked to see he wasn't bleeding, at least not yet. It appeared the King and the Elite were teaming up to remove the low class Saiyan before he could cause any more embarrassments. Most likely the Elite was looking to get in the King's good books for coming to his aid. It was a difficult situation, attacking either one would leave him open to attacks from the other. Yet sitting back on the defensive was a bad tactic when outnumbered and out classed. Tartus needed a plan if he wanted to last any longer in this fight. Sure he had hit the King, achieving the goal he set himself when he volunteered to join the fight, but there was so much more he could do if only he had a plan. Unfortunatly Tartus wasn't thinking of a plan to overcome the odds before him. He was thinking of only one thing, teaching Totoma a lesson. "True Saiyajin?" Tartus snarled at Totoma. "I was fighting in the Saiyan army when you were just a twinkle in your dad's eye. While you spend your time living a life of luxury, I bleed for this empire. Tell me, which of us here is a True Saiyajin?" Not waiting for an answer, Tartus closed the distance between himself and Totoma, for now, the King could wait. As soon as he was in range, Tartus kicked out his leg, keeping it low in an attempt to sweet Totoma's feet from under him. Hopefully the Elite would be knocked off his feet, allowing Tartus to follow up by cupping both his hands together above his head, before smashing them down. If all went to plan Totoma would be hit by the axe handle whilst in mid air, slamming him down to the ground before Tartus.

Totoma couldn’t help but actually be impressed by the Low Class’ performance, he could perhaps not be of a bloodline just like the Elite’s, but he could surely fight better than others. It was certainly some fresh air-- you wouldn’t see a Low Class landing a few hits on a King, and blocking an Elite’s everyday… granted Totoma didn’t think highly of Retasu, despite being cousins, to everyone else’s eyes he was no one but the King. And probably, not even Retasu himself knew of Totoma’s real identity; and he didn’t certainly mean to him being the ‘false’ King of the South, no.
They both came from one family; they were two faces of one medal, and yet they thought so differently. While Retasu had seemingly invited the Southern Saiyajin to surrender and blend in with his Empire, his cousin Totoma, thought such ideas would simply ruin the Saiyajin society and that the only solution was annihilating his opponents; Retasu and his soldiers.
The Saiyajin snapped out of his thoughts, and let his gaze set on the elder man; oh dear, he had surely pulled the trigger with him apparently. His words truly reflected one of an old warrior’s persona, even if Totoma’s expression didn’t reflect much but amusement.
“Luxury?... Heh, I wish. There’s a great difference between you and me, and it is deep inside. In our blood, down to the very corner of our cells.” - he replied. Which had almost sparked a question in his mind; how did Retasu live his life? He had no idea, but probably just like a Prince would have, or so he guessed at least.
His eyes widened, feeling himself losing balance as he snapped out of his thoughts before it was all followed by a thud, grimacing slightly as he felt someone hitting him above his head; it was Tartus who had just smashed him down. His body laying on the ground for a few moments, followed by a short moment of silence before a faint chuckle broke it. Totoma’s body rose from the ground; his grin wide as he glanced at Tartus.
“Who’s the True Saiyajin? You’d be surprised to hear my answer, but if so you consider yourself, then show me more.” - he told him as his arm bent, aiming for an elbow strike right into his face, intending to follow with a left hook.

He couldn't help but smirk as his attack hit Tartus head on, sending the Lower Class Saiyajin back on his feet. He'd rake a thumb across his nose proudly, expecting some form of retaliation, but instead watched as Tartus and Totoma would continue to battle it out. The Northern King stood there, blinking a bit in confusion. He had expected to be the star of this, as the proclaimed King of the Northern Empire he had figured anyone who was going to be in this fight was looking to make a name for themselves. Tartus was beginning to go on that path, but it seemed he and the other Saiyajin were too busy with themselves to pay him any attention. They were perhaps both eager to see who would outlast the other, and take on Retasu one on one. It was an honorable thought, better than the alternative of getting ganged up on by a mess of angry Saiyajin. It worked out to his favor, regardless, for the few moments he had to himself, able to shrug off Tartus' previous attack, that was still stinging his hands and face.
When he had enough waiting, he'd offer them a shout, seeing Totoma once again strike out against Tartus. "Oi! Don't let the old man fool you. He hits hard!" Another smirk came to his face, as he pushed his body forward and rushed towards the duo. Within their scrap, Retasu would use his speed to close the distance between them. He needed to find the perfect opening, and as Totoma had let his strike land against Tartus, he knew this was his shot. Reaching Totoma, he'd begin to swing his right and left fists towards him, in a similar way that Tartus attacked him previously, in an effort to break his guard. Each gloved fist firing off in his direction like pistons, at near blinding speed. One after the other they'd fire off, doing what he could to put him off guard. Attempting to push him back as much as he could, and ending the combination by hiking his leg up, bent at the knee, attempting to smash it into Totoma's chin.

Although this had started as a cold calculated battle, with Tartus opting to attack the King for the prestige it would bring a low class such as himself. Like many parts of Saiyan life, it had quickly decended into an emotionally driven rage fest, at least for Tartus. The aging Saiyan had almost completely forgotten about the King, focusing his full attention on the arrogant Elite Totoma. It was typical for an Elite to look down on a low class warrior. Believing that because they lucked out in the genetic lottery, they somehow deserved to be almost worshipped by the masses. Whereas people like Tartus had to fight tooth an bail for every bit of power they had. For Tartus, his service to the empire, his quest for betterment had cost him everything. His wife, his children and his legacy had all been taken from him, and what did he have to show for it? In fact he couldn't get through the day without a drink anymore. That's why Totoma's words enraged him so much, because deep down, he was ashamed of what he had become. The only reason he was in this fight at all, was because he had nothing to lose anymore. Totoma goaded Tartus once more before launching an elbow and a left hook. Tartus reeled back from the blows, unable to block them before they found their way home. The aging Saiyan opened his jaw, moving it from side to side to feel out how much damage the blows had done. Luckily, he hadn't broken any bones, but the jarring of his head had brought back his splitting headache. "You're right" Tartus stated, rubbing his temple "We are different. You were born lucky, gifted power and influence. Every drop of strength I have, was earned on the battlefield. You may be an Elite, but I am a warrior!"Tartus clenched his fist to ring the point home, when suddenly Retasu appeared out of nowhere. The aging Saiyan had almost forgot about the King, he was too caught up in his own battle with Totoma. Tartus watched as the King launched his attack, waiting until he could see an opening. As soon as Retasu lashed out with a kick, Tartus knew it was time to move. Launching himself off the arena floor at top speed, he closed in on Totoma. Regardless of if Retasu's kick connected or not, Tartus charged in immediately after. With one fist held out in front of himself, Tartus aimed to land a single powerful charging punch, hopefully with enough force to knock Totoma some distance away. Tartus immediately turned to face Retasu. "This just got personal, I don't need your help to put him down"
